Those numbers were published by Jim Liberatore.
Is he back at SPEED? I thought they fired him years ago in a dispute over reality progrsmming.
Do the research and I think you'll find he quit over the amount of NASCAR programming that was being done.

Speed, with all of the racing going on around the world, surely there is some exciting racing series going on somewhere to show. I don't watch these reality series, so the more you show these, the less I watch. Variety in racing is what we need to see.

YOU SOMEHOW THINK THAT SITTING ON YOUR COUCH WATCHING RACING ALL DAY LONG MAKES YOU AN INTELLIGENT PERSON OR A REAL GEAR-HEAD?? SORRY BUBS!! REAL GEAR-HEADS LIKE ME DON'T SPEND ALL THEIR TIME WATCHING RACING ON TV. THEY ACTUALLY SPEND MOST WEEKENDS BUILDING THEMSELVES A TIRE SHREDDING DAILY DRIVER OR A WEEKEND BRACKET RACER!! THAT IS JUST A PIECE OF REAL INTELLIGENCE!!
SO WHAT HAVE YOU BUILT LATELY?? OR ARE YOU GUYS SATISFIED WITH DRIVING YOUR BONE STOCK $500.00 A MONTH CAR PAYMENT?? I MEAN WHAT'S THE FUN IN THAT!? P.S. COST VS. RATINGS = RATINGS WIN EVERY TIME!!

You really need to provide some reputable links, instead of posting what you claim is true.
Got any viewer number data that is current, reputable and accurate (like Nielsen ratings) regarding Speeds reality show vs. racing viewership on a weekly basis?
I'll hazard a guess and say probably not, since Liberatore hasn't worked for Speed for what is it, five years now and Speed Nielsen data and viewership numbers only seem available when Speed webpage headlines tell us that Nascar truck racing viewship increased some percentage points.
My gut tells me that Nascar subsidizes Speed. It's the only theory I can get to make sense because I can't believe anyone watches the reality dreck that Speed constantly ponies up.
I think I could dispute the idea that nobody watches the reality dreck, since reality shows - more accurately, quasi-reality shows, since they're all pretty much staged - are among the hottest properties on TV right now, like it or not. Right now dreck sells.
NASCAR revenues cover a lot of money that might be lost on other programming, including the reality shows that haven't taken off, no more or no less.

Well you know this really gets on my nerves... I am one of the stars in this series and we worked very hard for the show. I think that you are being pretty simple minded by thinking this station should only show what the few of you want. Now I am a NASCAR and racing fan just as much as the next guy, and I realize this station is about DRIVING. it represents all types of driving. Be it NASCAR, F1, Rally, Dirt track or occupational. So I thank you in advance for NOT watching my show. You are not the people we want to see it, maybe be in it.
