There are a lot of variables at work. Perhaps Johnson was more conservative on his first stop because he wasn't worried about catching anyone on the track and was more agressive. Perhaps Johnson slows down to stop in his box earlier. The fact is that Montoya's last stop had a service time equal to Johnson's first stop, but was 1 second faster on pit road. That shows Montoya was speeding.
I missed sumpin'...run by me again how "That shows Montoya was speeding." If Tony was a second slower comin in and goin' out...there goes your "theory"...
Facts gang...just facts please.

Stewart doesn't prove anything. Stewart's times have nothing to do with this. We just know he was slower than Johnson. There is no reason to assume his time must be perfect just because he's Tony Stewart.
I am only comparing Johson's first stop with Montoya's last because they had equal stop times (14.6) which makes for the smallest possible variables. JJ's first stop had him on pit road for 45.4 seconds, and Montoya's last stop had him on pit road for 44.4 seconds (one whole second faster). This makes it entirely plausible that Montoya was speeding on pit road and Johnson wasn't because Montoya spent less time on pit road than Johnson when the stops were of equal length.

m6172 - Oooopppsss, I mis-posted when I wrote Tony, I meant Jimmie. I still don't see how compaeing their in/out times "shows" anything regarding Montoyas speed. If JJ got held up on his way in/out, his time would have no reflection on JPMs speed (even if not blocked for that matter...)

You can see the Nascar brass looking up at 40 to go and saying"you know that Mexican guy might win this, we have to do something"
You can bet your last dollar if it was Jr in the same position he would have won and it would never have been mentioned. That's why Nascar is a limited bush league series that is looked down on by most of the world's racing fans. An American series for Americans ONLY...
srp204, JPM hails from Colombia, NOT Mexico.
With regard to your last (sort of) sentence, "An American series for Americans ONLY..."
Return to Geography 101.
The Americas comprise two continents: North & South/Latin America (connected by Central America).
The US is a country in North America, while Colombia is a country in South/Latin America.
As a natural citizen of the US, I'm North American. That doesn't make me any "more American" than citizens of other countries in the Americas.

It seems to me that Kahne has a problem. He overdrove the corner at Pocono and nearly wrecked JPM. He did at Watkins Glen and took out Hornish and did it again today at Michigan.

Montoya is perfect for NASCAR. He was the biggest whiner ever in F1; what a crybaby. He's a bad enough sportsman to play pro basketball!

Montoya wasn't the biggest crybaby in F1, btw. It was this guy:

He's not in F1 anymore either.
