Does anyone know the hp numbers and top speed of this bike? Was it 2005 that Kawasaki won the Supersport class?

I did some on-line digging and here's what I found:

First is a two-page test done by Motorcycle.Com

http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/kawasaki/2005-kawasaki-zx6r-15719.html

that gives specs on just about everything on the bike.

Great Britain's SuperBike Magazine had a web link here

http://www.superbike.co.uk/tests/Superbike__KAWASAKI_ZX636R_2002_news_69202.html

which was for the 2002 edition of the bike and this SuperBike.Com 2003 for the next year's bike.

Minnesota Motorcycle Monthly
offered their views, which were mostly riding impressions.

MotorcycleDaily.com had a similar report. (their link to the Kawasaki web site goes to this year's models.)

Most of the rest of what I found (and had the patience to wade through) was "Bikes Bor Sale" ads, "Parts For Bikes" ads, "How To Fix" posts and comments on assorted forums.

Good luck finding more information.

I don't think Kawasaki has won a WSS title since Andrew Pitt back in about 01 or so. That is just off the top of my head.

And if you are referring to whether they won the title in 2005 on the 636, well that was not really the bike they raced.

When Kawasaki had the street 636 on sale they also made a 600RR that was homologated for WSS racing world wide, because obviously the 636 was illegal in 600cc classes around the world. I cannot remember exactly but the 600RR might not have even been sold with road going paraphernalia like mirrors, lights etc because it was solely aimed at race teams, but I could be wrong on that.

Kawasaki made the road going version a 636 because of the added torque/power it would offer over the other 600's and it was pretty popular (at least he in Aus) because of this and did really well in most supersport shoot-outs.

You would not think 36cc would make much difference but apparently it did.
