The track promoter owed Nascar over million dollars.

Man, this is really sad. I've been going there since I was 5 years old.
At least I got to see what were likely the last 3 major races run there.
I hope they can figure out how to make this work, but I was really disappointed with the turnout for the truck race---though it was rained out Friday night. The crowd for the Busch race wasn't small by any means though.

It would be really cool if the Nationwide race went to Road America and the Truck Race went to Madison.

OT--There is an annual event at The Milwaukee Mile. It is the meeting of the vintage Miller Racing Car club. They have about 35 vintage Indy and open wheel racing cars at the track. The cars get to go on the track. It is next weekend. The info.

Besides, search out the site for pictures, videos and sounds of the old race cars.
But, mainly, at TrackForum, they say that this show is still going to be presented this year.
There are more cars there just for display. What is great, you walk amongst these cars and talk to the owners. Maybe get in one of them.

They changed promoters at the end of last year ... after the previous promoter had made Marcus Lemonis (Camping World) the CEO ... and then he was dumped too ...
Plus, I think the owner of the track/fairgrounds was trying to shut down the track last year ...

Heh, I think you might be overestimating the size of the facilities at Madison. I love that little track though.
Adding Road America to the circuit would be absolutely awesome though. I wonder if that could be more than just a pipe dream.

Sorry to those who have lost their track... but in reality it has been a long time since I had seen what could possibly been called a 'good race' there.

Milwaukee is in trouble with IRL too. I hope this isn't it for Milwaukee.

I've lost Nazareth and that sucked, although i still have Pocono and Maple Grove to head too. Milwaukee put on great racing throughout the years.

Very sad. I saw the Indy cars run there in the Rex Mays 150 way back in 1971. My cousin and I were rooting for Bill Vukovich, but he blew a motor.
