Fans want to see more wrecks?

Kenny Wallace made the statement that fans requesting double file restarts was because we want to see more wrecks. Give us a break. NASCAR run away racing mainly on 1.5 mile tri-ovals is boring. We want to see more racing and less riding. Many "mature" race fans are staying home and watching anything but boring racing. Hello NASCAR and Kenny.

Kenny has once again displayed his ignorance. Fans want to see the race leaders racing without the interference of backmarkers. Accidents happen, but not the reason we watch racing. How long do we have to endure a second rate driver who adds very little to insight to our own views. Kyle Petty is far more analytical and enjoyable to watch.

I hate to break it to you, but there are lots of people who watch racing just for the wrecks, especially NASCAR "fans".

After the Coke 400, I saw a lot of people on NASCAR race control saying "Now that's REAL racing!"

Those aren't true race fans they are crash fans, obviously. Distinction?

That was real racing that ended in a crash. My point is they were racing hard and not cruising around on a Sunday drive. The fact they crashed was the result of full tilt win or burn all out effort to win.

You're not quite clear on your point but I think I got the ghoulish nature of your intent.

In the mid '80s I road raced motorcycles and at one event a good friend came along to help me out. He brought his shrill and annoying wife along. In the crowded paddock she loudly proclaimed that she was only there to see some good wrecks. The sudden silence was completely beyond her ken.

Happily I still have that friend and his wife is now an ex. I'm sure she's a religious "Wrecks" fan.

It's more alarming that Speed allows these guys to prattle on and make bogus statements of that nature. I don't watch the NASCAR shows on Speed on any frequent basis, mainly because I have heard those sort of BS remarks when I do, and I log on here daily and see complaints about similar comments.

One would think that Speed wouldn't want those sort of gross generalizations about their viewers, nor any of the other questionable comments that I read about here. Evidently, though, accountability for their (only marginally intelligent) talking heads isn't a priority, at least so long as the cash keeps flowing (which is the real emphasis anyway, regardless of what NASCAR will try to tell Speed and it's viewers).
