Interesting article on pitpass:
http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=38324
Quote at the end of the article: "Pitpass hears that FOTA is to demand that the team selection process is not just reviewed but started from scratch".
So Mosley and Donnelly were too close to Mannor. Is that going to mess up USF1?

Alan Donnelly is also the Chief of Stewards. He is Mad Max's trusty lieutenant. A couple of weeks ago, when Donnelly was playing Mad Max's role in the FIA-FOTA skirmishes, FOTA complained in a letter about the possible conflict of interest in his serving both as Mad Max's representative and as Chief of Stewards.
Mad Max's official response?
"We utterly reject the suggestion in the correspondence received."
Yes, the FIA is a cartel of criminals led by a wannabe fascist dictator.

Seriously, how can the FIA members and WMSC not view this as a conflict? Are they completely cowed by Max? I mean, we know the Spanish member (Gracia) is, he said so.
When Manor was first announced there were a lot of questions about how they got a slot and how they managed to submit a bid without anyone knowing about it. Now it appears that they managed to get a lot more done with FIA help, something that the others bidders did not get.
I fully accept Bernie getting involved with Williams to get them sponsors and keep them racing as it is in his best interests to do so. But, Max and Donnelly rigging the bid process and introducing the Manor group to the wealthiest in F1 to secure sponsorship (before the vetting was done) is just too much. Manor should have their application revoked, or the bid process should be redone in it entirety with Max and Donnelly being banned from having any interaction with those evaluating the applications and voting for acceptance.
At this point, I would prefer if the existing teams and Bernie/CVC came up with a shortlist of 5 teams and the FIA/WMSC got to choose the final 3. Anything to keep Max from gaming the system, yet again.

I think its time for a lexicon to help us translate Max Mosley.
"An agreement will be reached soon."
Translation: Everything's pretty well bolloxed up and its mostly my fault.
"We utterly reject the suggestion in the correspondence received."
Translation: 'The evidence is fairly damaging and I haven't come up with a way to spin it yet.'

The 3 teams selected (USF1, Manor & Campos) were not just selected by the FIA or Donnelly, Bernie & CVC also had a say.
It was CVC for instance that looked at the applicants financial plans & informed the FIA on which teams had what funds avaliable.
Right now to exclude any of the 3 teams selected would be overly harsh as its likely that they have already started spending money in preperation for 2010 & perhaps have already started hiring new staff for there F1 efforts.
Something Im wandering is are FOTA trying to get rid of one or more of the new teams because they would prefer to have new teams that would align themselfs with FOTA should they need extra support?

Yes, that would be harsh, but it doesn't mean it wouldn't be right. If someone was elected in a crooked election, you wouldn't let the results stand because they already sold their house and moved to Washington D.C.

If one of the teams is more of a shell company that Max could be part of in the future, I would think they just wouldn't let them in.

Well...some more details on the 2010 Team Selection process.
http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=38333
Cliffs notes version: the new teams were required to list Cosworth as their engine supplier if they had any hope of being accepted by the FIA.
Another article that again questions how serious the new teams really are. Basically, it ties in to how neutral the selection process was, and if FOTA makes a stink about it, could leave the three new teams on the sidelines. It especially makes USF1 look bad, or at very least bush league.

Money Quote:
Pitpass had recently reported that USF1 had approached the completely wrong department of a company it had hoped to woo as a sponsor. Now, speaking under condition of anonymity, a senior business source in F1 has told Pitpass business editor Christian Sylt that "somebody went to see the American team the other day, and said 'there's nothing there'. I'd be very surprised if they are there [next season]."
Curioser and curioser to quote an English girl....

It is my understanding that the entry fee for 2010 is not due until November 1. Don't be surprised if new teams drop out before that date.

We declare that we have examined this Entry Form and that the information given is true, correct and complete and we undertake to pay the entry fee of €309,000 (three hundred and nine thousand Euros) to the FIA no later than 1 November U2009U. We understand and agree that any changes must be notified to the FIA in writing within 7 days of such change to allow reappraisal of the entry.

About as neutral as anything else at the FIA. Which is to say it was completely rigged and bent to favor Mosley and his Orcs.

How neutral? Not at all! It was very clear from the start that Max was not running a neutral process and was using the team selection process to try and split up FOTA. It was political as hell, utterly prejudiced and completely rigged by Max to try and create a spec series.
