What do the bottom two sets of numbers on the leader board at the track mean? They are constantly changing and I cant figure it out. Thanks

They cycle through the positions that aren't labeled on the scoreboard. I can't remember exactly how many positions the tower shows, but for example if 36th through 39th was Junior, Johnson, Martin, Gordon: in those bottom two spots on the tower it would first say
36 88
37 48

Then a few seconds later it would change to:
38 5
39 24

Indy had that problem too. Their tower only goes to 33 cars. So, those changing numbers on the bottom for the rest of the field for the Brickyard 400 race.

As part of their expansive capital improvement project, a couple years ago Pocono replaced their aging four-position scoreboard with a massive tower that now displays the top eight cars.

Take that you rednecks.

Phoenix has 17 positions on their pylon. 1-15, then the last 2 rotate through the rest of the field.
