Tony allowed Kyle's pass clean, without a double block. Just thought I'd throw that out there. ......

What I hate is that these drivers are referred to as the best in the world and then they wad it up in the end. It was a great race but the end was just ashame. All of those torn up cars . Unfortunately there is nothing than really can be done about it.

I think Kyle totally had it coming. The last couple plate races both he and Hamlin have been making some bonzai moves that I'm amazed someone hasn't called them on yet. Remember Denny at 'Dega telling Kyle to knock off the blocking, or he was going to wreck the field? There's reasonable blocking, then there's just renegade slamming the door in someones face. The funny thing is, if Kyle hadn't made the 2nd block (and yes, he blocked twice. He blocked low once, Tony got into him and got him a little squirmy, and got him turned to the yellow line, then came back to the right), Kyle WOULD have won the race. Tony did have a run, but all Kyle had to do was push Tony up the track a little, then right before the line turn down the banking, and Kyle probably would have won. But by cutting straight across Tony's hood, he got himself turned and wrecked. 100% Kyle's fault, period.

And I will get crucified for saying this, but I think Kyle NEEDS to get hurt for him to start to wake up and mature. I'm obviously not talking any serious injuries where he misses races, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but he needs to get banged up just enough for him to wake up in the middle of the night in pain and realize he isn't invincible, and there are consequences for driving so aggressively the way he does. He's such a talented driver its not even funny, but he needs to learn what a hard hit is and maybe it will change his viewpoint a little.

he needs to learn what a hard hit is ...

How hard would you like him to hit or be hit?

Your detailed dissection of the crash is probably the correct one, but there are many that conflict. Who cares? I think that this is a leopard that isn't going to be changing his spots any time soon. I like that.

Hard enough for him to say "Holy crap, that really hurts. Maybe I shouldn't drive like a raging maniac and swerve across the track."

Don't forget, both Tony and Kurt were wild and reckless when they first came into Cup. They took a couple hard hits (Kurt's from Jimmy Spencer's fist), and also with age, they have matured greatly. 8 years ago, Tony would have gotten out of his car and said "The punk deserved it, sucks for him!" and been jumping around. But last night we saw a very mature Tony. Kurt has been humbled and isn't hot-headed and wild like he used to be either. Hopefully Kyle will come around to that. Honestly, his attitude is about the only reason I'm not a fan. I lose the win every race approach, but when you don't win, don't throw a fit. You can be passionate about winning without being a douche. Look at every other driver out there. They run their butt off, and finish 2nd, and they all look at it as "Man, I raced my butt off, but Carl/Jimmie/Jeff/Dale Jr/insert any driver here just beat me today. I did everything I could to win, but came up a little short. Thats ok, we'll get em next week." If he did that, I wouldn't mind him winning 30 races a year.

Busch is such an idiot

How? or what did he do wrong tonight?

Climbing in the race car was probably mistake #1.

Can't disagree with any of that and wouldn't if I could because as far as I'm concerned, his post-race attitude is irrelevant. Perhaps that will change over time as it has for the others you mentioned. It'll still be irrelevant.

The guy goes for it ... every time there's a chance to win. On Saturday night, he was in the lead. You'll be waiting a while for him to simply say "we'll get 'em next week" after a finish like that one.

There are a sufficient number of Jim Johnsons and Matt Kenseths out there to suit me. raspberry
