WHAT HAPPENED TO AMA SAME DAY COVERAGE?

I thought that Laguna was going to start the AMA same day coverage. The only race I care to watch is Superbike since the Supersport (or whatever it's called now) is horrible!
Seriously, what's with the rolling start? One of the best parts of the race is seeing everyone start off the line.

Oh well, Thank God for World SBK and MOTOGP!

WHY OH WHY can't they just mimic World SBK? WHY? The recipe works!

Laguna AMA/DMG is on at midnight, Sunday (eastern), and 1am. If you use your imagination I guess that's SDD.

I do not think of 12:00 Midnight as same day delay broadcasting. I know 1:00AM MONDAY is not. SPEED really knows how to piss of motorcycle racing fans. You said they heard the fans "loud and clear" then you do this! And what happened to Laguna Seca Moto GP? I believe SPEED and Roger E are out to ruin the sport to make way for more reality broadcasts and NASCAR specials. You guys SUCK!!!!!!!!

SPEED lied to us about same day coverage. I really hope someone else starts to broadcast racing. SPEED prefers reality shows.

Try not to be an ass in every post, AMAfan. It's just lovely that this stuff is on at a time that you can watch - to paraphrase one of your typical comments, not everyone lives on the west coast - and to those of us on the east that still have jobs this isn't same day coverage - it's next day coverage. And I might add that east coast races won't be broadcast earlier, so it isn't about the number of hours between taped and broadcast time, we are simply being stuck in a crappy time slot.

You were the ONLY person that touted the old format as something good, why am I not surprised that you like this one too?

I have no idea how long it takes to prepare a broadcast for SDD airing, but here's what Speed is showing in the Sunday evening prime time slot, instead of the AMA/DMG Laguna Seca races:

Copied with edits from Speed TV program listings:
* Jul 5, 2009 7:00PM ET: The SPEED Report - Motorsports News - Exciting recap of this week's motorsports action.
* Jul 5, 2009 8:00PM ET: NASCAR Victory Lane - Daytona - The Pepsi 400 from Daytona International Speedway.
* Jul 5, 2009 9:00PM ET: Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain - Motorsports News & Talk - Each week Dave weighs in on what's going on in the world of motorsports, on two and four wheels.
* Jul 5, 2009 10:00PM ET: NASCAR Hall of Fame - The First Class - The twenty-five candidates vying for the first five slots for enshrinement in the new NASCAR Hall of Fame are profiled.
* Jul 5, 2009 11:00PM ET: Wrecked - Hogs - A livestock truck carrying 150 hogs collides head on with a pick up truck.
* Jul 5, 2009 11:30PM ET: Wrecked - Slaying the Dragon - A container truck full of cardboard tips over on the highway; Tony and Jay break Tryk's truck; a semi gets stuck in a loading dock.

Edit: looks like the races actually happen at these times, barring unforeseen circumstances:
6:30pm to 7:00pm (EST) RACE AMA Daytona Sportbike
7:15pm to 7:45pm (EST) RACE AMA Superbike
Edit ends

If it takes anything less than about 5 hours to prepare a SDD show for airing, I think Dave Despain owes us an apology for exhorting us to 'watch, or blame only ourselves if it goes away.'

I am sure Speed will be impressed with the ratings for the two back to back episodes of wrecked they have scheduled. With 2 tow truck drivers watching the first show and one falling asleep before the end of it and with the other one watching half of the second one before finding a rerun Green Acres and never returning to watch the rest of - Slaying the Dumbass If Dave Despain said something to the affect - exhorting us to 'watch, or blame only ourselves if it goes away - then I suggest he grow hair where it counts and tell Speed that they are not the sharpest tools in the shed for putting a show like wrecked on and at least mention the horrible scheduling. Christ Dave no one deserved to get a show like WindTunnel more than you but don't sell out to a pay check or do you really think that motorcyclist are second rate people who should just shut up and settle for what ever crap they feed us. So thank you to all involved from AMADMG to Speed for expecting us fans of the motorcycling sport to stay up until some ridiculous hour to see coverage and for this we are told that we should be thankful. Take a page from the NASCAR debacle before you start to think that the fan is secondary like they did.
