Unless the FIA and F1 management respect FOTA and make reasonable changes based on input from FOTA, then FOTA will have no choice but to form a true F1 series which in all probability would be better than the Dumb and Dumber show.

Hear, hear, Peter. Let me echo the hopes for F1's progress, an early return to US, and of course the USF1 team. Only regret will be missing Peter's grid walks on the broadcast next year, but comfort in knowing that he's gone on to bigger and better things.

The reason for optimism, going forward, is that FOTA having played its hand, and FIA not willing to take a chance on calling, FOTA's voice WILL be respected. Not because it's the right thing to do for the sport or the fans, realistically, but because FOTA has demonstrated that it has power.

Apples and Oranges. Two totally differnt things. 20 some guys on a field kicking a round object around. Any one can do that! Get 20 of your buddies to design, build and race one of these machines. Alternate reality.

I find it interesting that the two examples sited for American ingenuity both come from the aerospace industry rather than the auto industry. Perhaps Mr. Windsor is validating the relative importance of aerodynamics in F1 over the mechanical.

I understand that as a start-up team, making sure that you'll be able to field 2 cars come Australia 2010 is much more important than making sure the team's website works properly.

But I went home some odd Tuesdays ago to watch yours and Ken Anderson's announcement and I clearly remember you stating that you were going to do things differently and allow unprecedented access to how the team is running... Meanwhile all I get when going to http://www.usf1.com is a big bold "Coming Soon" over a blank page.

Peter, I hope you didn't speak too soon. With Max in power NOTHING is certain until it actually happens, not a second before. F1 will not be stable as long a he is around. Bernie did great things in the past, but everything he does these days seems to make F1 worse not better.

It's time we had new people all around to shake things up. Your team is a welcome edition to do just that. I have enjoyed your contributions to the broadcast, your access is amazing. Since nobody in the US cares about F1 we lucked out in having you apart of a great team.

F1 should learn from how much your, and Steve's, access improves the show. One reason NASCAR is so successful is it's accessibility. I dare say no one in the paddock had anywhere near the access you had. I love it, one minute talking to Ron Dennis, then Bernie, a past champion, a current one then doing the press conference....incredible. Sounds like you realize how important this is and will be incorporating it into your team. Good on you for it, F1 needs to get away from the closed lip days of Jean Todt at Ferrari. A new kind of team for a new kind of F1 if only Max and Bernie don't take F1 down with them.

Hey Peter, you've got about 45 days to get away with anything you want while the sophomoric Hitler food fight is still raging in the cafeteria. Just show up with a Cosworth V10 driven by Villineuve and say "you didn't tell us we couldn't"

It took two decades practically to get American open wheel racing back together and it might take that long to get the audience back.
