The judge said he had serious issues with the nascar testing. hell, I am terminally ill and sure that some of my meds would give all sorts of false reads under nascar tests, does that make me a drugy?
I'm really sorry to hear that. I wish you all the best.
No, your medications wouldn't make you a drug addict. However, depending on the effect they have on your body, they may preclude you from driving a stock car in one of NASCAR's top 3 series.
There's a difference between taking a banned substance and being addicted to drugs (either legal or illegal).

I've seen people fail drug tests for opiates from poppy seed bagels so false tests do happen. I think NASCAR's biggest problem is that their testing procedure from A to Z isn't clear and that they have also said they follow their own rules not any state or federal guidelines on testing.

4 teams turned him down. Not a big surprise.
They don't want to be associated with a drug user. Its an image that the teams and sponsors have to upheld its standards for the fans.

They're teams that didn't want to be associated with him. At all. Drug user or not. Otherwise, he would've shown up at Daytona in the #64 or #66 or whatever teams they were instead of his own team. Teams haven't been interested in having Mayfield as their driver for close to two years now. Not just the past two months.
And it's almost for this very, more general reason. No matter where he goes, he brings controversy and drama with him. "Rusty got me fired from Penske!" "Ray was with Erin instead of building my car!" "I drank Coke and Pepsi together and it turned into meth!". He should've done as he was directed and checked with NASCAR's physician when he changed medication, and this wouldn't have happened. But instead its somebody else's fault. Again.

I won't edit this post since somebody quoted it and it would probably cause a little confusion, but by the "He would've shown up at Daytona in the #66" part, I meant the Daytona 500 in February, not this weekend.

If the judge has serious doubts about the testing, then it's time for Nascar to totally review it's policy.
I really wonder if they got any legal advice before adopting it. There certainly is some work to do. And what about all the others who have been banned? This could get interesting.

He does cause alot of drama at his teams. He left Penske in the middle of 2001 and he left Evernham in the middle of 2006. I agree drugs or not Jeremy is too much drama to deal with and this whole fiasco in the last 2 months will just further ruin his reputation.

I've been on this board for years. Why does it say I'm a rookie with 7 posts?
