Talmacsi is in an unenviable position this year.
However, if he can produce at least a few credible results this year, he may eventually secure his future in MotoGP, thus making lemonade out of a very big bag full of lemons. In his favor he has the backing of a significant force, Hungarian national interest, behind him.
Imagine if Nicky had the full sporting attention, with attendant commercial resources, of the entire state of Kentucky backing him up.

lee, now that you've seen OAS, go watch Joe Kid on a Stingray. http://www.joekidonastingray.com/ it's about the progress of bmx thru the 70s. it's the same time period and explains all those kids on their bikes in the opening of OAS.
btw, you get mad props for getting OAS at 21 being born 15 years after.
wow zoot, that movie looks un-real, soon as i get paid on friday im going to order up a copy.
OAS is one of my favorite all time movies, when racing and training starts wearing on me, nothing makes me just want to go ride all day long for fun like watchin OAS

Steve McQueen IS the man.
the cool thing about riding back in the day was you didn't have 18" of travel and whoops were big at 6 inches. there were jumps but nobody was clearing houses other than kneivel which meant, in theory, the risk wasn't quite as high as it is today. today, you can go fast enough thru the woods a tree will kill you. you can jump high enough the fall could kill you. i love the progress and we can't stop it but there was something simpler then.

Thanks for sharing Zoot that trailer was kick @$$, the BMX stuff takes me back to Inglewood around 73-74 when a few of us neighborhood kids met a young bloke named Scott who had the first BMX bike we had ever seen. Week later we were converting our bikes and BMXing on made up tracks as well as jumping trash cans in the alley for kicks (early X games?). Good times and worthy of another thread soon.

An updated version with all the disciplines and cameos with a few of the guys from the first film in a segment on how their respective speciality has changed since the first movie as an intro to the new version of that specialty would be great. But I agree keeping the format similar to the original but with needed updates in graphics, video shots and of course music would be great.

Another good idea would be a series of documentaries on individual racing series such as MotoGP/GP racing, IOMTT, Motocross, and others. Speed should create documentaries like this instead of ridiculous shows like Superbikes and American Thunder. Or maybe they can pitch the idea to various history or discovery type channels. Great to hear that USA Discovery will be showing the IOMTT.
