How in the world does Duno get money for road races?

The series needs alot of things but if Tomas has had money to run and is a better quality driver, I'd rather see him on a road course as Duno is painfully slow. On the ovals at least she hasn't been too bad. In the perfect world, both of them would be racing this weekend.

Cesar Chavez has given her a set amount of money and they are spending it where it is best spent. She can't drive on short ovals, hence she was not at Richmond, Iowa and Milwaukee. On a road course, she can just play follow the leader and not get embarrassed.

Don't buy gas at Citgo. That'll hit them in the pocketbook.

On the other hand, Scheckter is being funded by Mona Vie. I feel their thinking is that they get more TV exposure on ovals with Tomas' aggressive driving style, so they'll back him on ovals before a road course, where he will just be another car in the mid pack train.

Cesar Chavez? Do you think that's funny or something? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. And (like with most other brands) CITGO stations are owned by individuals, so the vast majority of the gas price stays here. But don't let that stop you...

I'm dead serious. Oh and its Hugo Chavez. My mistake.

Those "individually owned" stations are supplied by Citgo, a Venezulean owned petroleum company. Chavez is the President of that country.

By not buying gas there, we are not putting dollars into the hands of a man who is out to destroy us.

Learn some economics and business before making uninformed posts. Much more of the cost of the gas you buy goes into the hands of the supplier and secondarily into gasoline taxes before it any profit goes to the owner of the station. In fact, most gas stations make very little ( a few cents if any) on the gas they sell. Their real profit is in the convenience store and other services such as a car wash.

Oh, and I know the business. One of the things I do is LEND MONEY to gas station owners.

What's Hugo Chavez gonna do? Run up to you and kick you in the groin? Please. He's just a blowhard leftist. He's destroying his own country. Hey, they elected him in an democratic election apparently, so now they pay the price. Just another banana republic leader who needs to be ignored. You do know that EJ Viso is sponsored by the parent company (PDVSA) of Citgo right? So Hugo has two evil drivers doing his bidding.

Going back to Schekter. When the Monavie deal was announced at Texas it was clear Tomas would miss a few races (I think it will be 3), given that D&R;is a 2 car operation that already had one employed driver (Conway) and money from Milka to run most but not all races, it makes no sense for them to run 3 cars in many races and then run an unsponsored one a couple of times. Monavie and Tomas come later so their deal probably include all non-Milka races plus a few others.

As for Milka, Citgo seems to want to run her in a couple of road courses and she has drive Grand-Am on Glen so it makes sense it would be picked.

Citgo is headquartered in Houston Texas and ALL of Citgo's refineries are located in the United States of America. Citgo employs thousands of Americans though it refineries and retail outlets.

I find it amusing that people try to argue that purchasing oil from Citgo is somehow less patriotic becuase the gasoline is produced from oil mined in Venezuala and not the mid-east.

Fact:

Citgo Petroleum Corporation is a United States-incorporated, Venezuela-owned refiner and marketer of gasoline, lubricants, petrochemicals, and other petroleum products.

Its incorporated in the US, but is VENEZUELA OWNED.

I guess in your book it would have been fine for Adolph Hitler or the KKK to own and operate a US company as long as they "employed thousands of Americans".
