Brumos 250 - Anyone Going?

I have gone back and forth on going since it is now being held on the same day as the Nascar race. Have no interest in staying for the Nascar race, if I think I won't be "trapped" due parking or road redirection right after the Grand-Am race ends, I may attend.

Any thoughts?

I had hoped to attend, but it is a long drive and a lot of other things need to work out for it to happen.

But the turtles often out on a good show. If I go I doubt I will be disappointed.

SPF 2K sunscreen and lots of fluids.

If you get there early enough for the GA race, you'll have no problems leaving if you do the park and ride thing (i.e. Lot 10). Just park next to the exit when you get there and someone going to the night race will be happy to take the spot you left. You might have to go a little out of your way when leaving, but I'm sure you'll make it out reasonably.

I'm trying to formulate my plan of attack for doing this as well.

Agreed on the sunscreen and fluids - I went to the Pepsi 400 2 years ago and Busch race that had been rained out the night before, and *OH MY GOD* how did I ever survive growing up there?

Do you mean Lot 7? Lot 10 is near the back stretch and the shuttle drops off at the back stretch stands which I don't think are open

I liked the Brumos Porsche Race when it was run at night. Daytime in July is no time to be at DIS.

Yeah, you're right, good point. Forgot about that... I'll have to loop around from the north then.

95 degrees and pretty high humidity, I'd bet. And unrelenting sun. If you have a hat, wear it. Lots of sunscreen, lots of fluids.

If you have a big, old white dress shirt - real loose-fitting - it will keep you cooler than going shirtless or wearing t-shirt or something, because it will reflect some sun.

Looks like I will miss this one - I tired but things didn't work out (but not giving up yet - miracles happen.) So go, enjoy, knowing I envy you.

Hope it's a great race

Yes it will be hot and humid, that is the only thing that is deterring me. I have a feeling it is going to be a game day decision (I live in Jacksonville).

I much prefer when it was a night race. It would be a no brainer in going

My aunt and uncle are going to be there for the 2nd year in a row. I should be there next year smile My uncle is still not a fan of the race being moved to Saturday from Thursday.
