Grand Am bores me to tears....I try to watch....can't.

Give me ALMS anytime.

I actually thought it was a great race. A lot of action. I must be easy to please.

The boards here were a little flakey yesterday.

Anyway, seemed a good day for someone other than Ganassi to win. Sigh. Nice to see AIM, SunTrust, Krohn, and others looking quick.

It was a beautiful day at the track, contrary to what the weather reports were calling for. Still, hearing news in the paddock from Road America about Tom Thrash's passing really brought the day down for me.

I was there and I had a fantastic time at a great race. Actually the best road course race I have attended. I also had the chance to introduce my son-in-law to sport car racing and he was hooked. I love alms but I will definetley be back. I also love the way how everyone associated with rolex is so helpfull and freindly. I was able to get a picture with Scott Pruett before the race and it was definetley a highlight. They may not be as fast or pretty but it is good racing. This comes from a guy who has said bad things about rolex before. I'm convinced and I'll be back.

Grand-Am races are very exciting and they are probably better than ALMS. Sorry ALMS but I prefer Grand-Am. By the way I do like the ALMS just not as much as Grand-Am.

I would say it was a great weekend, beautiful track, weather and fun in the paddock. Drivers and teams are more than willing to talk with the fans.

Koni GS Race - Incredible first 45 minutes, a sprint race. Fell off after some of the leaders had various issues but still worth watching.

ST Race - didn't stay :(

Rolex Race - Very exciting, a lot going on from beginning to end, hard racing to the checkered in DP and the top 5 in GT nose to tail to the end.

Mustang Challenge Race - Pretty darn entertaining.

TDI Cup - Those little buggers can scoot with young (slightly inexperienced with not much regard for life and limb) drivers made it fun to watch.

It was a great race weekend for me. Loved every minute of it.

Spent the weekend with my fiancee Chantal and many of the great bunch over at Garra-Fans.

The GS race (first hour or so) was really good. It did fall off, but was a good race. Great too see my fellow countryman Kenny Wilden get the victory.

I also loved the Rolex race very much. Was pulling for either AIM or the # 6 MSR guys to win. Zonta really pressured Pruett for the victory, and looked good. Also, a great battle for third in the last hour in GT between the Stevenson and Banner Pontiacs and the # 69 Speedsource Mazda.

I also enjoyed the Jetta race. Stayed for the first half hour of the ST race, then had to leave.

Super time at the Garra-Fans BBQ Saturday night. Lots of folks from the website, and visits from a few Rolex GT drivers.

The only downside was that Mid-Ohio (while still fairly well kept up and a beautiful track), has really lost some of it's luster. The camping area had no showers (which they have the past few years), and the ones in the maintenance compound were pretty dirty. Also, I noticed that (with the exception of some repairs to the pedestrian bridges), there seemed to be a lack of any noticable improvements to the place.

Track management must not sit on it's laurels. It once was like Barber Motorsports Park is now, but it is not being as well kept up. I don't want to see it fall into disrepair.

I was thinking of heading down to Mid Ohio this weekend for the Vintage Race anybody going? I agree wiht the previous poster the track is great and a lot of fun to go to but they can't rest as there is more competition out there. VIR,Barber, Autobahn, New Jersey Motorspots Park, plus a new road course in Kentucky all come to mind.

I really dislike the fencing they have put up on the inside of practically every turn, it makes getting photos very difficult. If I can use my friends 100-400 lens that would change things though.

I never have any trouble getting good pictures at midohio. My favorite spot for pics is either comming to the honda bridge after the esses or at the bottom of the hill just after the esses. My beast pics are the cars comming over the crest of the last turn in the esses. One word of advice I offer for midohio though is getting out. I notice that most people turn left going to lexington which can really be a traffic tieup at times. If you are going south you are much better off to go right and take 314 south to 95 and return to I-71 at that point. If you go that direction you will also get a nice view of the ohio countryside and catch part of amish life. Oh one last thing. I thought the crowd at the race was pretty good. With just about every series having drops in attendace at just about every race I exspected the same saturday. If anything the crowd seemed much larger then last year. A good sign.
