Fix what? Fix SpeedTV greed? Fix SpeedTV evil? Yea I’d like to fix those things too but it’s not gonna happen so buy a Grex and be glad someone told you how to fix what can be fixed!

Ok recently ive not been able to record ANY races, ever since the Analog or whatever that major switch was back in early summer.

I wanna know why is it preventing me to record races, Petit Le Mans is coming up and i REALLY need to record it because ill be gone for 2 weeks.. so WTF SPEED???? is this your stupid FOX owners causing this?

Someone help? i wanna know if im the only one that is having this problem, if it makes a difference i have Mediacom as our cable provider.

Because now i cant watch any races that im gone for.. and knowing speed they NEVER show replays (unless its Nascar of course)

The gist of the conversation seems to be that some dvd recorders are more sensitive to copyright flags than others. Sony seems to be especially susceptible. You might try another brand for the Petit LeMans and return it if it doesn't work out.

None of this makes any sense since most of the races end up on download sites anyway, but, again, as I have said before, SPEED seems to be on a mission to have the worst customer service in the history of telecasting.

All DVD recorders are required by federal law to respond to any digital broadcast protection flags sent by broadcasters. If any DVD recorders were “less sensitive” to digital broadcast protection flags then they would be in violation of federal law.

Trying another brand of DVD recorder is a worthless suggestion.

Viewers are not SpeedTV customers, advertisers are. SpeedTV management considers viewers irrelevant.

I'm with Time Warner and have a DVR. This is the second time I'm unable to watch a recorded race. When I try to play it back it locks up the DVR and it reboots itself. The previous one was ALMS at Road America. This is a SPEED only issue as I'm able to record and playback other channels. Haven't called TW yet, thought I check here first. Is SPEED doing something to prevent us from watching recorded content ? Please don't say it's so.

Still, copy protection shouldn't cause a DVR to lock up and reboot. Wouldn't it just toss up a warning and not record it? I don't think it's Speed either, because I recorded today's Rolex race to DVD.

I was able to watch the race off of my DVR...I couldn't catch it live, either. Weird.

Before I got my Grex I recorded F1 from SpeedTV on VHS. After I got my Grex I played the tape back, sent it through the Grex and recorded it onto DVD+RW.

Incidentally, you need not fear mentioning the Grex as the device is perfectly legal. Just as making copies of programming you legally receive for archival purposes is also perfectly legal.

I could but that *would* be illegal.
