Having watched Bob do most (I stress MOST of the 24 Hours at Le Mans-he slept some...wimp) I was quite disappointed not to see him do the Speed report also...what do they pay him for??? Seriously, if you watched the 24 hours, this guy has the best sense of humor in Autodome.

He was on Wind Tunnel later in the night. The man can only be so many places at once.

the guy has to sleep sometimes !!!

and another thing:
after watching the live world feed on-line during the nascar programming, we all better be well aware of how much better the entire speed tv crew is than the clowns we had to listen to from across the pond.

varsha, hobbs and crew are by far the best out there.

I was being sarcastic...Like I said, I think he has the best sense of humor around...if you heard his sylable comment, I laughed for a while. Sorry despain, you're a close second.

I agree with dhbldr, the speed crew is much better, they really used to shine when bernie let us have NA races...

That's who. What was worse, the lone American in the team couldn't get away from how F1 drivers are just not up to endurance racing and it's demands. Maybe he should have considered that they all now have some experience in events like Le Mans.

I think you've missed the point that he was trying to make.

I'm new to Speed/F1 and agree that Bob and the gang are terrific. By the way, are they at the races or are they covering them in the studio?

From the studio - the only on site person is peter windsor who speed probably doesn't have to pay his travel or accommodations since he is at the races in multiple capacities these days.

But Varsha is great - he's been around F1 since F1 was in ESPN and Fox Sports - and the combo of all three make the race commentary interesting.

And for LeMans, I watch several hours of it every year and it always amazes me how well the Speed crew does filling up so many hours with commentary without making feel stale - they do a great job!
