Wouldn't be surprised if they announce TG resigning later on. You see if they announced this now, it would overshadow Helio's Indy 500 win. He still has to go on a couple of talk shows....

The buzz on TF is about Robin's interview on local sports radio last night, where he was literally screaming and yelling about Brian Barnhardt, for which one poster summarized as:
Something like:
"Brian Barnhart has no credentials, he was an errand boy, then mechanic, then a TG butt sniffer and yet he tells drivers give me four good ones, etc give me a break"....
"It was Barnhart, not ABC that didn't want Helio to climb the fence..."
"Barnhart told drivers in the closed meeting that Helio earned the right to lead the first lap, be single file by Turn 1"...
"Barnhart orchestrates the entire race and it's a joke"...
"Everyone knows that the entire series and 500 are screwed up but no one dares stand up to TG's little boy Barnhart"...
"They need to put in Cottman now, he is a genius, Barnhart is an idiot"....
"it's my mission to get Barnhart out of the Speedway, he is a disaster"....
If this is true... then is reinforces the assertion that Robin Miller is multi-focally an irresponsible journalist who cannot maintain objectivity in his reporting.
I do not know what happened... but this is what we do know:
IMS
- IMS is under significant economic pressure.
Robin Miller
- Robin Miller was dismissed as a journalist by ESPN for taking liberties.
- Robin Miller was fired by Champ Car and dismissed by the Indianapolis Star for what was perceived as malignant conduct.
- Miller incorrectly reported that the Tony Kanaan contract with TCG was a "done deal". It turns out it was in an advanced stage of development... but not a "done deal". Some felt the story was purposefully leaked to Miller to expose him... while others felt it was leaked to benefit Tony Kanaan who was given a sweetheart deal by Michael Andretti at the last second.

Listen to the podcasts that Grizzlor posted. I agree with Robin.

batsignal, listen to the podcast from yesterday, because I just did and that TF poster's description was not accurate at all. Robin gave a great interview, and brought up many good points, and did not attack Barnhardt personally.
Champ Car fired him because he told the truth.

Barnhardt was the one that told the yellow shirts to keep Helio from climbing the fence. Barnhardt is also the same person who allows the cars to start building up speed in turn 3. Barnhardt also said in the driver's meeting, "The Pole winner has THE RIGHT to lead in turn 1 at Indy."
You really want to keep this guy in control of the races?

Robin was told that IMS's Joie Chitwood also told drivers to go directly to victory lane if they win the race, no ifs ands or buts. I am listening to the podcast from today now....Robin said he talked to many people in the past 48 hours before writing the TG/IMS article.

RM also pointed on SportsRadio that SI Bruce Martin was also on the story at same time. So It's not just Robin.
