It is better to end the A1GP season in the UK on May 3rd when F1, GP2 and IndyCar are all on off-weeks (not racing) and the finale can be a showcase.

I 'get' what your saying, but even that date clashes with another major international series. It's the same day, & likely time, as the WTCC at Marrakesh. During the summer months there's always something going on somewhere. Just sayin' cheese

*Regardless I'm at a track the MC/Indy weekend anyway so the vid will be in overdrive for anything I miss on telly. No biggy smile

Mexico City has made the necessary adjustments
on the Peraltada curve with various chicanes.

Mexican Audiences will still go to the live race.. as no Mexican drivers in F1, Indycar or Nascar at the moment. But there is a Team Mexico in A1GP & they're super-patriotic like that.

And speaking about no Mexican F1 drivers, I hope
Carlos Slim can put a budget and be another new
F1 entry.

There is Sergio Perez in GP2 so far. Their best
Mexican hopeful so far. And they might get
Mario Dominguez for it's 2nd seat.

What was wrong with it before? I kind of liked that curve - just goes on and on and on...

I don't know for sure, but to venture a guess, Safety?

These days, to get safety approval, high speed turns need to have enormous run off areas/gravel pits. Its expensive and sometimes impossible to add such areas. Track owners probably decided it was cheaper to change the layout than to add a huge runoff.

Note: this is all predicated on the non-existance of an extensive runoff /gravel pit in that corner. Consider me proven wrong if there is, I'm not completely familiar with the facility.
