This thread shouldn't be call what is wrong with Nascar, but What is right with Nascar, there is a lot more wrong with it right now, than right. People can disagree with a lot of different things, but mostly agree that Nascar is severely broken, and Nascar seems not to care to fix it, since it requires them to admit that they were wrong, and they seems unwilling or unable to that. Mike Helton may be a smart guy, but he sure doesn't act like it. He talks like minor changes will be added to the list things for next year, like it will only take a tweak here or there to make everything right. I think that anything he wants should be avoided like the plague, and he should be reassigned..As for Brian France, this guy is just about as bad as Tony George, and just as cancerous. This guy's lust for money is up there with Bernie Ecclestone, except he doesn't have to answer to anyone, Bernie has at least to answer to someone. Brian France is ruining Nascar, not single-handedly, but I would guess that he would sell his share in an instant if it would pay him more. He has no loyalty, no interest in anything but making himself more money. Yes, it has to be said that there was some interest in the chase when it started, except that Nascar ruined it. They expanded it to 12, just because Dale Jr, missed it one year. There is no other sport in the world who runs a playoff type system that allows for all competitors or teams to participate in the contest. You say that the smaller fields would be boring, shorten the field to 12, shorten the race to 150 laps. Do something. I feel, and am not alone in saying that Nascar in it's current form is dreadful, nobody is interested in watching ring around the rosy. Shortening the races is a noble idea, hell even making the winner of the races win more points..Give some points to the pole winner...lead a lap gain some points....lead most laps gain points....Get rid of the Cot, it's hideous to watch its hideous to look at....Hell the trucks are more thrilling to watch as a race fan. They have a much better setup over there. shorter races, shorter season, better racing. they are getting higher than ever ratings on cable...Nascar is overbloated, and too big for its own good, if they keep going further down, they will lose all they have won in the early 2000s. I belive that Nascar will fall and hard, and not because of the economy.

Who does Bernie Ecclestone answer to besides maybe Mrs. Ecclestone. This is a dude that has seriously killed F1 for years.

Ecclestone has to answer to CVC, and when (at long last) Ecclestone is gone, he will be replaced with some CVC accountant who will be every bit as greedy.

The bigger question is....Is CVC the reincarnation of Bernie Madoff?
