I agree completely with Harry's post. I feel the same way about everything. I used to like Nascar way back in the day, but now it just seems like: What WWF is to Olympic wrestling, NASCAR is to racing. Just a perception, not necessarily true. I do hate the fact that Speed has become NASCAR/Reality TV, they are shooting for the lowest common denominator with a lot of their programming lately. I'm resentful, naturally, that a massive amount of racing series that I really enjoyed have been removed to make way for garbage.

In WRC news: Live Sockets has begun releasing the 2008 series on DVD. The first set of races (Monte Carlo, Sweden and Mexico) was released on DVD on the 14th. I'm looking forward to watching those races.

They could take about HALF of the nascar coverage off and afford some WRC action. How many times to we need to see a cut up nascar and some redneck talking about "wedge" that crap is for morons!

No one that bothers to post about rallying on Speed's forums hates this more than I, but the WRC will likely never return to the US, because of lawyers and insurance issues. Its really quite that simple. :/

Like for example formula 1 drivers, lets be honest, are a lot more talented than the average nascar driver, yet nascar is the most popular motorsport in america.

I'm no fan of NASCAR and far prefer open wheel and road racing, including when Speed would show Rally programs Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and recaps too. But is it wise to say F1 drivers have more talent than NASCAR drivers? F1 is a certain type of motor racing. NASCAR is another. IndyCar and NHRA are another. No need to take an arrogant attitude towards NASCAR drivers and fans; that's what they seem to do towards all the rest. Let's not be them, let's be better than them.

WRC and rally racing in general is fun to watch and I'm sure would be fun to watch in person. It's a shame none of main cable networks carry it.
