I can see why some people would want to go to a single engine format. I am sure they arn't from Ferrari, merc, bmw or renault. Would it hurt what is already some of the most boring racing on the planet? Of course it would. But just having 8 cars per race wouldn't be much of a thrill either. small havenot teams just can't get themselves competitive using last years leftovers from the haves. would using the same engines make the small teams winners. Of course it wouldn't. the small teams would still run many seconds behind the 500mil$$$ teams. So yet again it is another stupid fix in how to lower the costs. The 100mil the big teams would save in engine development would now be spent in the wind tunnel shaving another 100th off their lap times.. what would happen if F1 went back to steel brakes. Ones that heat up when over used. the ones that need more than 100ft to bring a car down from 200 to 60 to make a turn. the ones that allow drivers to outbrake the guy in front of them. isn't that how most passes are made. I have wondered about this as a simple and cheap way to bring the drivers back as the main ingredient in any win, not to have victory in the hands of the fuelers and tacticions. I have read somewhere that a set of carbon fiber pads take 3 mo to make at around $20,000 per set. steel pads can be got for lik 40 at napa. LMAO u get the point. well just a rant from an old race fan whom is going through racing withdrawals like the rest of u.. bring on the aussie V8's.. 1mo to supercross season. dam I might just watch a swamp buggie race. well not that desperate yet. have a nice holiday
