USAC: Doodson Critically Injured in Road Car Accident

Part-time USAC driver Cameron Dodson is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he is being treated for injuries sustained in a passenger car crash near his home in Greenfield, Ind.

He wouldn't have dared get into a race car without his harness, but he gets thrown from his car after driving into the ditch. Pity.

I can't believe in this day and age a racecar driver would still get in a road car and not wear a seatbelt. Why do people insist on trying to win Darwin Awards? Oh well, I hope he's okay for his family's sake.

Cameron had a good day yesterday and a great night last night. He certainly still needs all of our thoughts and prayers. There was an article today in our local paper about Cameron. http://www.greenfieldreporter.com/articles/2008/11/21/sports/01.txt

Is Cameron related to Ben Rothlisberger? Hope he gets better soon, and has enough sense next time to strap in.

It seems as if every time I hear of a racer being involved in a passenger car accident, seat belts are not being used. Racers should know the importance of strapping in more than anybody!

Ever since my first race, I buckle up every time. It just doesn't feel right to be riding around loose in the car.
