There is so much mediocrity in America that it is MADDENING at least to me and others that I talk to. Most people show up for a paycheck - if they are forced to. It shows in the quality or lack there of in their work. What is amazing to me is that people who barely delivery mediocre results for the pay they are given are tolerated because they generate enough revenue for an entity to retain them. There must be a Helleva shortage of competent workers in America or business managers have resigned to the fact it's too much trouble to find or educate employees, so they hire any warm body that will show up for work at least three out of five days per week.
Thankfully racing tends to attract very passionate people. Those who can't handle the 24/7 pace and required dedication usually move on because they just hold the team back.
Unfortunately the dumbing down of America has gathered full steam and the future does not look very rosy.
