Hello --
With recent "questionable" decisions handed down from F1 stewards in recent races, I have to ask the question:
WHO the heck are these guys (ie. F1 Stewards)?
Anyone know a "watch dog" site to keep track of these bozos?
Is the # of stewards fixed throughout year.
Does the group change based on location -- or stay same throughout year.
Does the group include presence from host city/country/track?
Do the stewards travel to each race?
What kind of background and references to these Stewards have -- they're making decisions that mean MILLIONS of $$$ to F1 teams? ie -- are they qualified?
How are decisions passed down: can they take action by themselves do they have require team to submit compliant?
Is majority required to pass decision?
(related) What kind of oversight exists to insure these guys don't [poop] on the F1 regs?
With recent decisions recently handed to Hamilton, Massa, and Bourdais; I can't help but arrive at decision these guys not really enforcing F1 regs (like an Umpire does at Football game -- US or English).
Per Bordais, the SpeedTV article today/Tues spells it clearly: driver exiting pits doesn't have to do ANYTHING for on-track driver entering corner. That on face value spells "racing incident" for last weekend.
Thus, I can't help but wonder who these F1 Stewards are.
Maybe someone needs to manufacture a F1 Steward squeeze toy that we can punch on F1 weekends...?? -GA
Put a FACE on these F1 Stewards…. (and product idea…).

Pretty surprising there.
They were headed by Graham Stoker, who is the chairman of the UK Motor Sport Association and a lawyer who sits on the sport’s dispute resolution panel, the British version of Switzerland’s court for arbitration in sport.
Pretty surprising there.

The answers to all your questions are readily available online if you take the time to do the research for yourself.
I'll give you a head start. You can find the 2008 Sporting Regulations,The International Sporting Code, the duties of Stewards, and links to the race Stewards documents with their decisions and names below.
