Formula 1 might not survive much beyond one more season if teams do not drastically slash costs, FIA president Max Mosley has warned.

Oh goody! Than maybe the teams will start their own series and we will get the racing we deserve as fans!

Two in season tests, submit two sets of aero wings/bodywork before first race to be used entire season, allow customer cars, and lets race.

I agree with Pincoln however this is racing and that is something that will continuously evolve throughout the entire season so it would be hard to implement changes like that. The same setup couldn't be used on the same circuits-would be entertaining!!

I see F1 becoming a lot more like NASCAR with the big-time manufacturers (Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Renault, Honda) providing the chassis and engines to multiple teams. It just makes a lot more financial sense. You could even have single car teams. Just like other motorsports which operate like this you would have the "Works" team's and then the customer teams. You could have the top 3 finishing vehicles from each marque awarded Constructor's Championship points. You take those 6 manufacturers and have them each fielding a total of 4 cars and you could have nice 24 car legitimate grids. It would make it a lot cheaper and more technically feasible for the smaller customer teams to enter F1. It would spread the cost around for the manufacturers giving them the economy of scale. And it would be incentivized for the top teams to provide support for their customer teams for the Constructor's Championship because a third car would also receive points. This would make for much less speed disparity.

Did Max have this profound thought while he was shackled up as some hooker was spankin' him on his bare behind with a whip????

The Formula One teams are big boys and they can do whatever they want. But if they persist in a "cost reductions" regime that produces kit cars (like the IRL and NASCAR have devolved into)they can kiss this fan of 43 years goodbye. Technology rules!

Who cares? The FIA has made it abundantly clear they don't care about the biggest automotive market (North America) in the world, so why should we care about whose billions get spent how?

F1 has attempted to contain costs for many years to no avail - 2 race engine rules, standard ecu, retro-tech cars (no ABS, TC, YC, passive susp, etc.). The teams spend money wherever they can to gain a competitive edge - currently in aero. No need for F1 to become yet another spec formula car series - the world already has plenty of those. The nature of F1 and MotoGP is the world's best - drivers / riders, cars/bikes, tracks, events - the top echelon and that sometimes correlates to money. But I think it is more the collective visions of those striving to be the best in the world. Let it be so.
I remember not that long ago when F1 decided that the solution to all their problems would be solved by making the wheels smaller - less tire and brake for slower cornering speeds and therefore better performance parity between the haves and have-nots. It took the top F1 teams little more than the off-season and considerable money to win back all that was taken away by the smaller wheels. Ditto grooved tires. OY!
On the other hand, F1 could use a more modern set of aero rules, especially getting rid of the flat bottom car (I'm not aware of any other pro open wheel formula that still uses flat bottoms) in favor of a spec underwing / tunnel with tighter controls on exterior wings. Better weight equivalencies (car plus driver vs. bhp, torque) could help, too. IMHO.

Raceboy, That's the problem!Artificial racing (nascar) is not everybody’s thing. Max needs to be retired and spend his time and money with the ladies that like to play german war games. Alles Gute Max, wir wuenschen dir viel vergnuegen!!!
