pretty sweet! Are you fairly tall/long inseam? These always appear a bit tall and top-heavy and i'm just curious how you feel on it from a fit standpoint, thanks and enjoy!!

how much does that weigh?

i always like the GS series, but, they seemed so #### heavy for a true "adventure" bike... that one looks lighter than i remember them...

i am sooooo out of the loop on anything streetbike related...

Listed at 178kg dry. Should be much more capable of-raod than the 1200oilhead, but not as roadworthy. http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=2008f800gs

that's gorgeous short the weird front fairing extension. i'm jealous. my next street bike will be a sm, just don't think it will be any time soon. are those extra fuel tanks in the back?

bc, sm chassis bikes are the best designed bikes for all riding (not roadracing, riding). they may be a bit taller but that's irrelevant unless you're stopped, and you just need one toe for that. so many people think road racing bikes are good for the street, and i'm sure someone here will argue it with me now, but an upright mx chassis is better for the street. roadracing bikes are for road RACING. people buy them because they don't know better and think they look cool.

congrats, bw. i actually just converted a friend. he was a street only guy. learned there and never rode a track or the dirt. i kept telling him how hot SM bikes were. he trusted me tho he was confused all the way up until he threw his leg over his new drz400sm. his sv sat in the drive 90% the time, now he doesn't even drive his truck.
