Ok, does anyone know how offen the engine parts are reused or replaced:

Engine block:

Crank:

Rods:

Pistons:

Heads:

Valve train (OK, this is easy...valve springs get changed after practice, they get new ones..):

Camshaft:

I will answer this from the perspective of a top team or a shop that is building engines for customers. Some of the lower budgeted teams will run parts longer than the top teams.

As a general rule the engine block, heads, rods, crank, and camshaft will be run from 12 to 15 races. Pistons, rings, valves, and valve springs are replaced after every race. And no you can not replace valve springs after practice the same long block must be used for practice, qualifying, and the race. Valves and springs are considered to be part of the long block. I hope that helps you out.
