I'm 6'4" and possibly the least flexible person that ever lived. I've ridden YSRs, not since the early 90's, and I loved them but I'd have to sit on one before I'd buy one now. I can't ride a GSXR750, how pathetic is that?

not really. they weren't meant for riding.
most clubs have dropped the YSR in the past 5 years and are running 65s and 85s. if you're stiff the 65s would be rough but you'd probably dig an 85sm. theres a photo of mine on the austin ama sm race thread. I'm 6' and sooo comfy... but i'm coming of ysr's and rs's so it's relative.
maybe stretch a little

gary... my old CR80/105 could be bought for a reasonable price... if you are truley interested in trying this out there is no reason not to... there is so much mini stuff going on right now across the country... with the economy the way it is, a bunch of guys are switching to the minis to get their fix and still have a place to live...

another thing to consider, if you bought this bike you would personally own a machine that caused me considerable pain and anguish over 2 seasons of use... that has to be worth somehting, right?

Sorry about asking a question and not being here for the response, I live a mile from road america and was just wondering what you need to start. They have a supemoto track there, isnt that where the races are usually held? I realize you need a bike, but is there dvantages to being on a 65 or 85 cc, what kind of mods to make it ready/competitive, and maybe a site that could direct me on where to race?? I used to race flat track back in my day, and want to get back into some kind of motorsport but dont have boatloads of cash to burn.

if you are wanting to do true supermoto with dirt and jumps... get the 85 and put 17"s on it...no doubt about this...
if you are wanting to do mini roadracing, either bike will be fine, but, most orgs across the country have classes where the 65 is the cheapest and most competitive platform you can buy... those dman cheater 150Rs came out and ruined the stock 85s... you can build a fire breather 85/105, but, it starts to become pretty serious business after that...
the 65 is stiffer springs and 12" rims away form being able to be on the pace if you are... of course you can dump more money into, but, it will not make you faster until you can ride the push a stocker to its limits...

the site above has pretty comprehensive network of the mini orgs across North America...
