SpongeBob is really quite clever...
i really liked Jimmy Neutron as well...
I like Jimmy Neutron, but isn't that a CGI show, versus "pen and paper" (this is where Gary lets me know that nothing is pen and paper anymore). But I can't watch SpongeBob. I know alot of people, young and old like it, but I just can't get into it.
Give me Merry Melodies, Looney Tunes, Thundercats, GI Joe, Transformers, etc. Now that's a Saturday morning line up.

there is a specific term for when the things of our youth are remmbered more fondly and put higher than what they rightly should be... damned if i canremembver it though...
with that being said, i remember many times after school, getting small and watching Thundercats... that chick cat... swishing her tail all around... GGGGRRRRRRRRR BABY!!!!!!!

i fall into the "they were better back in the day" category too but both jimmy neutron and sponge bob are destined to be classics. speaking of hot cartoon girls, the evil gargoyle in gargoyles was the hotness. the claws... the tail... the short hair and evilness... grrrr

The darker justice leagues of a few years ago were good.
I still have a soft spot for the Transformers (the original ones, not the weirdness they've concocted since the late 80s/early 90s), although when I watch them now, they are a bit hokey (not really surprising)

I know nothing about animation, no correction from this front. I'm too old to know anything about Thundercats but I am now curious!

it's ok, gary, i'm too old for thundercats too... i think i was in college which was a big cartoon gap for me.
honestly, i don't think anything has ever matched the intelligence of the WB morning with bugs, the road runner, wyle e coyote and daffy. all the tex avery stuff set a mark few have reached. that stuff was written for adults

Spongebob really is about as clever a cartoon as i have seen... when it first came out, i had several friends tell me how good it was, but, i did not watch it until TMM latched on to it... i was shocked at how good it was...
i still like Jimmy Neutron better... Sheen is my man...
