I was just looking at the GA web site today to find the dates of the VIR race but the '09
schedule wasn't up yet. Where did you get it? Thanks for the 411.

How official is this? I can't find any official 2009 Grand Am schedule that's been released. There's nothing on their website, any of their teams websites, or on Google.

NASCAR isn't going to Mexico City in 2009. Is Grand Am going to be the headline event?

Yet another year w/o a Northwest date. Keep hoping Portland will be on the schedule.

Also Lime Rock isnt on that schedule(for rolex).... that's doesnt seem right. And also Infineon is gone and it doesnt make sense that they would have Koni at Homestead in March and then have Rolex there in Oct.
That cant be real.

It's not real ... I was talking to a Grand Am insider last night who stated that the schedule was only released to the teams yesterday. He also stated that he didn't recall seeing Mexico City on it.

It's real and was released to the teams last Friday. Either your "insider" isn't on the team owner list, or is getting his information from somewhere other than Grand Am.

Mexico City is definitely on it... Rolex will headline and look for it to be a longer race.

Homestead Koni and Rolex have been held on different dates in the past, and that will be the case once again in '09.

The official schedule hasn't been announced, as some details are not yet finalized.

BTW, most of this isn't exactly news when I posted it here, ...

While the 2009 Rolex Series schedule will be announced in the near future, Grand-Am President Roger Edmondson said that the series will race 13 times in 2009. The schedule will include all of the present venues with the exception of Infineon Raceway, and will be arranged to allow for more travel time between events. A major change will be the Rolex Series headlining the 2009 event at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, with the race distance increased to 1,000 kilometers or six hours.
