There's some kind of big rider and team announcement today for the 2009 season. You can watch it here at 3:30pm ET/12:30pm PT on the SPEED site as a webcast.

This is the announcement that L&M;Racing has signed James Stewart and reveal what color bikes they'll be riding. It sounds like Kyle Chisholm will be his teammate. My guess is they announce that they are only doing the SX series although select outdoor nationals are a possibility.

I say they go with blue jean colored bikes. grin

Stewart better ride the outdoor nationals. Otherwise it's going to look like he's ducking Villopoto.

I'm sure they will be riding Yamaha's, but I'd love it if they shocked everyone and chose Honda's. The new CRF450R is an awesome bike, plus I could root for James instead of against him. I'm not sure about the outdoor deal, L&M;has been an indoor only team since there inception.

Kyle Chisholm as a teammate...that's interesting. Wonder where Ramsey will go.

Hey, he's going to ride next years X-Games Motocross. I'm sure he'll have a tough time beating Josh Hansen. rolleyes

Hopefully after Carmichael kills everyone in the step up, he decide to do that too. THEN we'll have a race.

stewart wont race outdoors, thats why he got dropped from fox because they didnt want to pay him to only have their stuff worn for supercross, and stewart is already over it, hes already looked into car racing, i cant believe people were surprised about this deal, i knew about this 2 races into supercross last year, plus kawi made it obviouse when they re-issued every ones kawi contingency cards and took stewart off it.

Here's a question - does this make Stewart a privateer?

Isn't it strange the this can happen in motocross - voluntarily going from the official factory team to a satellite team. I have no doubt he'll be getting factory parts, but could you imagine this same scenario happening in any of the big road racing series'? Could you imagine Rossi voluntarily going from Fiat Yamaha to Tech 3??

Nope, never happen.
