This relates to where the Japanese company which currently supports IndyCar racing is looking in the near future.
Coincidentally, the timeline for NSX debut is the same year targeted for a new IndyCar engine formula.. 2011.

I doubt Indycar will use a V10, but that would be soooooo cool.

the car is more related to their f1 stuff, i'd think. but it will be interesting to see when it comes out...

Very, very nice. I was always a fan of the "old" NSX, it just needed more power. While I would rather have seen Acura develop that platform for the new motor, packaging a V-10 in there would have been extremely problematic. I'll give it a look when it comes out.

P.S.- IMHO even with the camo paint job, the NSX is already better-looking than the Nissan GTR. The GTR is an awesome machine hampered by uninspired styling - I'll bet the undisguised NSX will be a real looker.

in person, the GT-R's pretty good looking. it's a lot smaller in person than in photos...

Yeah, I've heard a lot of folks say that - but the two I've seen in person looked worse, if that's possible. Guess it's a matter of personal taste (isn't everything?) They just look like some sort of ugly beetle to me. Not sleek, or sophisticated, or even particularly good-looking. They are incredibly fast, though . . . too bad the trannys look like they may be an issue at 20,000 non-warranty dollars a pop. You're right about the GT-R's size, though - it was much smaller than I thought it would be, which does help a little, I guess.

On second thought, no it doesn't. It's still ugly. tongue laugh

the tranny only pops if you're driving like an idiot, turn off the electonics (voiding your warranty) and then play with the launch control. yes, it's a GT, and it's meant to be driven hard. but there's hard, and then there's stupid. i think that playing with the launch control when you'd been told it would void the warranty is just stupid...

...like all the magazine reviewers did to post "those numbers". It's awesome performance potential aside, NO vehicle should come with a button that needs to be truthfully labelled "push to expensively damage car". I don't think anyone expects a car of this caliber to be bulletproof, but it shouldn't have a glass jaw either. And it does.

Always did love that car. Can't wait to see it minus the camo.
