FOTA also considering scraping Friday action altogether.

I doubt this idea will fly as it takes away from the "real" race, if you have an F1 race within a race. It also places all of the cars at risk for damage which could compromise their ability to compete in the real race on Sunday. The drivers really need Friday to sort the chassis.

No Friday action? When will there be practice?

i think they should keep friday practice, but break the race into two 1 hour and 30 minute races race one being held on saturday and race two on sunday, qualifying would start at 11 am on saturday there would be a 35 minute gap between qualifying and race 1

Not a good idea for many reasons mainly because it jeopardizes the condition of the car for the all-important, points-paying race on Sunday. If they are looking for something to spice up Friday's agenda, how about F1 poker tourney for the $1M purse?

Would there be any way to incorporate a showing of Truckasaurus?

this a continuation of my 2, 1 hour and 30 minute race idea,if a driver crashes out or experience mechanical failure in race 1,he will start at the back of the grid in race 2 on sunday, drivers will get 30 minutes to warm up on sunday before race 2, or there could be a qualifying session for the top 10 finishers of race 1 maybe 1 hour and 30 minutes is to long lets say 1 hour 10 minutes

Very bad idea because of many reasons. People have just posted many of them.

I'd be in favor if it would give junior drivers a shot. Let teams cycle test drivers and junior series drivers in and out of 1 car to get them some experience.

How about Friday morning is a longer session (4hrs?) of free practice, with whatever drivers you want, whatever spec you want, however many cars you want. Then later in the afternoon, hold the $1M race, but you have to use the 3rd car, and not one of the 2 regular drivers. It gives them a reason to have a 3rd or T-car at the track (hopefully it doesn't get wrecked in the race). It also gives track and F1 weekend experience to younger drivers who they may want to move up. It can also be a reward for a test driver to still keep some race experience. Less well funded teams could sell the seat for the Friday race but still keep their better or paid drivers for the "actual" race. It would give the opportunity to have local drivers for the race, like they had with the Friday only drivers, but with a race rather than just doing laps. The longer morning test session would allow both race drivers AND the Friday race driver to get some test / practice time. This way the Friday race would be more like GP2 but in real F1 cars. The 45 min limit would avoid having to refuel in the name of safety.
