I almost cannot believe it. While I am not thrilled with the soup that DMG is serving, I'm also not thrilled by the prospect of the inmates (the manufacturers) running the asylum. It'll be interesting to see if the big 4 stick together on this, and how they will attract the privateers and smaller teams that make up most of the grid. It'll also be interesting to see how they are going to make the prize payouts better and get some outside sponsors. Last I've seen only 2 out of the 4 manufacturers have title sponsors.
Just when it couldn't get uglier. My only hope is that one side quickly does away with the other or the both settle on the middle quickly, rather than a long and drawn out lose-lose war.

The RRW mentions ASRA. American Sportbike Rider Association? Do they run along with WERA?

Well, well, well.... Sounds good to me.

ASRA runs with CCS, sort of. ASRA (American Sportbike Racing Association) is basically the cream of the crop in CCS. Its CCS's National racing series, more or less.
Check it...

You should be able to find some stuff on there.

Glad to see there will be real Superbike racing in this country. Suzuki, Honda and perhaps Ducati???

It's also believed that the American distributors of all four Japanese companies will be involved and that they'll choose not to homologate, or offer a contingency program, for the Daytona Motorsports Group-run AMA Superbike Championship.
The release comes as the Daytona Motorsports Group was hoping to announce its 2009 schedule. Last week, track owners and operators were sent contracts which were to be returned by Monday, Sept. 9. They were told the announcement of a schedule would follow shortly.
Not everyone was happy with the contract. One track owner asked that amendments be included in the contract that allowed for an out-clause if there wasn't a significant television package or manufacturer involvement.
That's the first I've heard of the refusal to homologate stuff from the big 4 and that the track owners were unhappy with the contracts. One wonders if there was a clause in there about them not being able to have a DMG rivaled racing series race there.
