Can you point us to that rule?

I'm sorry but i lost the link that i got that statement from. It was a European Motorsports Discussion and it had the rule stated and where it is. I hadn't heard of anybody discussing the actual rule i full so I posted it.

It seems the Stewards want to make it clear and stop a recurring infraction:

DO NOT cut chicanes.

Do I like the ruling... yes. Do I agree with it... no.

As a Ferrari fan I will take the penalty, but it is not a good thing for Formula One. However, this same incident happened in 2005 between Alonso and Klein with the same exact result. So... the rules are the rules and whether we like them or not, we have to put up with them.

The right call was made... unforunately.

And to all the Ferrari bashers out there... for years we had to deal with other teams crying and complaining and we watched the structure of F1 change just to try and stop Ferrari from dominating. Stop acting like Ferrari get any more breaks than McLaren do. The "love-tap" on the wrist that McLaren got last year should have shut you people up for a few years at least.

Well, supposedly Ferrari had "nothing" to do with this...yeah right. I wonder how deep you would have to dig to find out the truth? Who is getting paid off at the FIA? Maybe not even by Ferrari...maybe a rich Ferrari fan..

Lewis took Kimi to school...Ferrari got embarrased ohh Can't have that now can we.

Stop with the BS penalties...Raikonnen got beaten, straight up.

Ferarri was my favirite F1 team, back in the Gilles Villeneuve/Niki Lauda days.

They weren't crybabies back then

Suggestion for all you Ferarri fans...petition your team to stop being crybabies...otherwise you are guilty also by association

Fixed it for ya.

Come on, why don't they fix the recurring infraction: "DO NOT push your opponents off the edge of the track, then hit him from behind in the very next corner."

How 'bout THAT infraction?

Way for F1 to take a good race and ruin it.

There should have been no penalty. Kimi forced him to cut the corner. He had no where else to go. He relinquished the lead and then got it back.

The problem is that the tracks nowadays are made so that if you go off-track, or cut a chicane you can easily get back in and keep your speed and position.

They need to modify the tracks so every millimiter outside of it is filled with thick speed reducing gravel, and the areas outside the chicanes have speed bumpers tall enough to pop that front wing off.

Then you will never see a driver dare to go off-track to make a move.

He was forced to slow down and move behind Kimi. He jumped the chicane instead. If the chicane had bumpers (ala Monza) his car would have been destroyed.

Lewis drove like a champ, and I think he would have won even without cutting that chicane.

My take is that the Stewards are aware of his Kamikaze moves and are just trying to curve them down a bit.

Ehhh, no, Lewis is not massively better than Kimi - the McLaren is massively better than the Ferrari on over hard tires in cold and particularly damp conditions. Kimi showed Lewis how to drive Spa until the temperature dropped and it started to rain; until then Lewis couldn't get near him, and he span on the second lap trying to keep his grid position.

This is not the first time. Think back to Silverstone and Hockenheim. It's hurting Kimi more than Massa because of his style, but there are clear hints in the Q&A;session with Stefano Domenicali on autosport http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/70403 If we want a close championship, Ferrari HAS to get to grips with how to use those tires.
