Scott's best line was "What?" when he was about to climb out of the car! Given the fact he had just taken his helmet off and heard over the speaker system that Helio was determined the winner.

Maybe we'll have two winners decided after the race finishes changed.

To me, it looked like Helio got him originally, then they showed the first replay at speed and looked like Dixon, but Helio did it! I was pretty impressed by most of the guys and girls for being able to race so close together. Thank you Graham for putting Buddy out towards the grass. Sorry had to say it.

That camera shot proved everything. Good Job Helio.

I guess they were so used to Helio being the bridesmaid they just assumed he was second again.

How come the race thread does not work? To keep this post here, yes, that was the great race of the year. Great crowd, great weather, great race, and, a great finish.

I don't get it!!
I've looked at the photo finish stills several times, both during the rushed ABC broadcast wrap-up, and just again twice on Wind Tunnel... there is no question Helio is inches ahead crossing the line. Despain just interviewed Dixon as the winner and Champ. What gives? The front wheel of the white car is obviously hitting the line while the wheel of the red Target car is just a bit behind.
So they determine the winner some other way these days??!! WTF?!

All in all, that was actually one of the better 1.5m ovals I have seen this year. The 3 wide was getting a little rediculous, and it did make me nervous as hell, but I thought that was a MUCH better race than Kansas or Homestead. If all the 1.5m ovals were like that I wouldn't complain....... as much.

The race was very exciting, but the only reason it was exciting is because Helio and Briscoe decided to slow down the pace (to save fuel) and it bottled everybody up since nobody could get around them.
If not for Helio/Briscoe forcing the race into a pack-rack, it would of been another 1.5 mile snoozer like Homestead/Motegi/Kansas.
The current Aero-Package is completely broken and something needs to be done. Either go pack to the real pack racing of a few years ago where you could pass anywhere, or take away the downforce to where they have to life. One or the other.....just get rid of this hug the bottom and only way to pass is on the outside crap.
Helio was faster than Dixon at the end, but the best he could do was pull-ahead by about an inch (which proved to be enough.) Bottom line though right now is that if you want to hold your position, just hug the white line and it makes it almost impossible for someone to get around you, unless they are way faster.
We need to get back to racing where people are passing on the inside and outside (not just trying to on the outside).

Again, it seemed like last year to me when it was mess after the race and the IRL didn't have stage set up for championship celebration, etc.
