IRL to be on ABC while Cup is on ESPN2?

Seeing as how this is the last "official" season ending race that ESPN/ABC will air for awhile I kinda like the idea of IndyCars going out over the big dogs.

I'll be DVRing the IndyCar race to watch from the end of the 4 p.m. games to the 8:15 game when the Indianapolis Colts begin their march to their second super bowl championship in three years!

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” - John Calvin Coolidge

Which of course will be after their loss to my Bears this sunday. Last year I had to flip between the finale between two drivers at the very exciting Chicagoland Speedway and the Bears opener. This year, I get to watch all of both!

Do the Bears or Colts even play in the NFL? The only team that matters is the Patriots.
You know, it's quite obvious that many of us die-hard AOWR fans are going to watch our favorite NFL teams open the season. You'd think the IRL would be trying to schedule the finale AWAY from most of the games (at least next year it should be a night race in Miami)

That's funny Dude. Are you implying rational thought goes into making up the IndyCar schedule???? I'm sure the powers that be feel that OW fans will drop everything, and search out the Chicago race, while ignoring the season opener for their fav NFL teams.

Then there is how Belle Isle's 0.9 TV rating confirms my suspicions that the IRL is back to where they were before the split as CC fans like myself just can't into this product, even though I keep trying. I even stayed for the IRL race at Detroit this year. Last year I did the ALMS race and that was it, couldn't stomach the IRL cars, and frankly I am just getting my appetite back from the Sunday race. I'll become hardcore once again if the IRL's new car not only goes turbo, but is a car that deserves the respect of being a top flight series by making the car far more challenging to drivers' talent than being one that comes down to how deep teams' pockets are. Waiting to 2011 is idiotic though as the split should have taught TG that once you lose fans, it's really hard to get them back, and waiting 3 years maybe far too long to get CC fans like myself back to putting AOW at the top of their sporting interests.
