Man, this board has gotten sloooooooooooow...just not much going on.

Why?

I know, for me, that the whole redesign and difficulty with logging on and staying logged on puts me off...and, then, when I do get on, there's not much going on here. Our numbers of posters has dropped, many of the most "vocal" folks are gone and the board doesn't seem to be attracting many new people...not a good equation.

Where did everyone go? (and the LOTI board isn't an option, as it is so active, it might draw me in, like a vortex, and I'll never get any work done )

The redesign is likely a big part of the problem. The board has also matured and kind of reached the point where most posts are about the poster proving how smart they (think) they are or why their opinion is the right one. It is no longer about an exchange of ideas. This happens to a lot of boards. They just stop being fun.

Maybe SPEED/FOX wants to phase out this bb service, as most of the time it seems that those that are attracted to the site are more likely to complain about SPEED's programming? What's the point in maintaining a "gripes board"?

LOTI is...well...how to explain...it is composed of a number of folks that were on these boards a number of years ago (myself included) who used to have a bunch of fun on what was then the "General Discussion" board...so much fun that SPEED ended up renaming the board the "Fan FUN Zone"

I still check it from time to time, and the frequency of posts are WAY down.

Who's missing? Off the top of my head; camaroguy, catgirl, minivanhater (dever), whip2, mclola, livin_gangsta, and dozens of others.... Who else is missing that always had something to contribute?

I used to check this room several times a day. Now it's just once, and it's sad.

That the board is FUBAR probably has something to do with it.

You never know what problems await you when you try to post or read a post, so why bother?

Continued technical problems, that don't get fixed, with sub-par message-board software probably isn't helping much either.

BTW the Auto board at the "other place" is reasonably active. Ris and I are still debating the relative merits of the styling of the 1-series!
