hello, i'm looking for help in getting the info i need to rebuild a '88 Ford Thunderbird Sport/Turbo coupe. hopefully i'm posting in the correct area on the forums. my first car was a 88 Ford T-bird and sadly the motor went beyond my ability to repair. so i had to let the car go. but now i have another T-Bird which is the same year and all, but it's the not sport/turbo coupe. so i'm looking at taking the time and money to rebuild the car in to the sport/turbo coupe. how ever the first thing is to do plenty of research in to how to do this. any of your help would be highly thanked.

Also would anyone on here know what would be the difference if there was any between the Sport coupe and the Turbo coupe. from photos i have researched on google the only difference i can so far see was that motor had more ponies and the dash had an extra gage in the TAC for the PSI.

Good to hear about your t-coupe project. I am working on my 1983 thunderbird, first 302 5.0L I have ever owned i keep learning and reading alot and am looking forward to initiate the rebuilding process soon, when ever my budget allows. I really like the t-birds fox look and it has alot of potential with a lil bit of ideas and imagination. Theres a lot of options for our vehicles. What are you looking for specifically?

The Sport and Turbo were very similar other than the engines.

The Sport had the 5.0 litre V8, and the TurboCoupe had the Turbocharged 2.3 litre 4 cylinder. The extra gauge you referred to is the boost gauge for the turbo boost pressure.

I had a 86 Thunderbird for a long time. I really like those cars. Very revolutionary styling when they were first introduced in 1983.
