This has been my first complete season that I followed the ALMS. I must say, it rules! I have been an F1 for 10 years and that is my sport. Mika Hakkinen Rules, I named my daughter after him! But, I must say, ALMS has been a little more exciting this year! I love the Acura Teams( I drive an Acura), Audi R10 sounds so awesome in Person and the C6-R is awesome in person. I know that F1 is not coming back to the US,I'm ok with that. I have an ALMS race in Long Beach down the street from me and Laguna Seca. Bottom line, ALMS is pretty sweet.

I'll have to agree, ALMS has some of the most excitement I have seen in racing. And go to the events, TV doesn't do them justice.

ALMS is one of the best racing in the world and it has technology, speed, good looking cars, and great racing. All the spices needed to make a great racing series. People might not get why ALMS and Grand Am run different classes at the same time but to me it makes perfect sense and equals great racing with tons of new challenges and tons of new opportunities for the teams and fans a like.

I have to agree ALMS is some of the best racing that I have seen in a long time. I was very tempted to get a three day pass for Long Beach this year to the ALMS race, but there is too much crap on Saturday. Friday practice was fun to watch though and the cars are amazing

i've been following ALMS for a while now. I agree. It may not have the intense degree of racing that NASCAR or Grand Am offer but The level of competition is greater. The technology is second behind F1. Not just ALMS but the LMS as well. As an engineering student i appreciate well built machines.

I agree. Best racing we've seen in America since the end of the IMSA GTP era...........

With the demise of Champ car, we had every right, in this time of economic uncertainty, to have expected a bunch of race teams to simply give up the ghost and go do something else. It is really gratifying, as a fan, and positive, from ALMS's perspective, to see so many teams and drivers coming over to invest in first-rate sports car racing. The LMP2 crowd have finally developed the reliability that those lighter cars have typically lacked, fighting often for first overall. It would be nice to see more opposition for the GT1 Corvettes but that team is a steamroller and no street manufacturer seems to have the guts to put street super-cars up against the GM boys. It was also fun to see Ferrari interrupting the usual train of Porsches in GT2.

The racing has been great, with an amazing mix of drivers and on some of my all-time favourite tracks. It was nice of you to start a positive thread. grin

In many ways, the ALMS is more technologically superior than F1.

There is not the restrictive atmopshere that you see in F1, and the teams are more free to create and develop.

The fact that the lap record at Mosport was shattered by 1.8 seconds this year as compared to just one year ago is simply amazing.

Fantastic stuff this year. I have been to three races live at Sebring, Mid-Ohio and Mosport and loved them all.
