Canadian Patrick Carpentier says “It’s over,” at the end of the year, after his one season with Dodge car owners Ray Evernham and George Gillett.
“They hired Reed Sorenson for next year, so it’s over,” Carpentier says. “They’re working on a fourth team and looking for sponsorship, but you know how that goes.”

That is really sad. I really like the guy. And he can qualify the car. If I had my choice between Reed and Patrick, I'd take Patrick in a heartbeat. I hope someone picks him up.

When he came to NASCAR, he really surprised me. The guy is really outgoing and you want to hear him when the pit reporter is looking for someone to talk to. I rooted for him to make the race when I watch qualifying.

This guy is a real racer. Someone DOES need to pick him up.
I think he will get a lot of phone calls, can both drive and market !

That does indeed suck. I think Felix S. had it right... Reed is as good as he's going to get.

The whole thing is INSANE !!!
I don't know why the majority owners (Canucks) would dump Patrick (a fellow Canuck) for a kid from GA ...
I like Patrick ... He's shown a helluva LOT of promise ...
I've never like Reed ... Yet another kid who some owner/sponsor thought they needed a kid in a car ... Having him sponsored by Target, Discount Tires, etc NEVER made me want to shop there over the competition (but I don't shop at Walmart) ...
Their 09 stats are basically the same ... And IIRC, the 9 got pile drove into on Saturday night by the 41 ...
Listening to Elliott earlier made me sick ... Felix was right ... Reed's NOT going to be any better than he already is ... He's NOT going to be any help to GEM ...
Patrick has been a LOT of help to GEM as he's helped Kasey & Elliott with their Road Course skills ... and GEM is winning again ...
Give me a driver over 30yo anytime over a kid ...
The fans LOVE Patrick ... Tv & Radio & print media love him too ...
Yet another stupid move by GEM/EMS ... I'm about to give up completely on nascar ...

Reed's English teachers should be ashamed ... as he doesn't have a full command of the English language ...
Sorenson's reaction? "I plan on winning some races and going for championships here sooner than later," he said. "So I respect Felix a lot. He's been a great guy to me. Him and Chip have both been two great mentors for me and I enjoyed working for him and working with him, and I definitely don't plan on not winning races. So I plan on winning races and I plan on being competitive and being able to get a shot at running in the top 12 and things like that. Hopefully I can prove that in the future."
"Him and Chip" ?!?!?! Reed says the same thing in interviews ... Reed doesn't know when to use "he" vs "him" ... Ugh!!! That is NOT what sponsors should be having their drivers say ...

Maybe just give up on GEM/EMS... Come on over to JGR... They seem to be making all the right desicions.. (talent wise anyway)
