^ Bingo !
I forgot about the Honda connection. Of course.
Great now we have Honda rejects coming overseas...JP..
I have great respect for both Conway and Ant I just dislike manufacturers pushing their personal on teams just to fill a seat with their own picked men. This takes the purpose of a ladder system and driving for a seat, so to speak.

Panther, truth be told, is a better ride than Minardi or Super Aguri, who Davidson raced for previously.
Racing for any one of the teams in F1 is MUCH bigger than racing for even the TOP teams in IndyCar. Racing for a backmarker in ICS is not where he wants to be. Trust me.

I didn't post about the Honda connection. That was someone else. I just agreed with it. Are you saying Honda DOESN'T give IRL drivers tests in F1 for doing well, and that Honda has NOTHING to do with this test ? Come on.... Next you'll tell us that Honda has nothing to do with Belle Isle or any of the other IRL team promoted races. After that, it will be that Honda has no say in the next engine. If you drive for a Honda team, Honda may get you tests in OTHER Honda teams. Why are you so touchy about Honda and what they do in the ICS ?

Not this one. Penske (not AGR) is the one behind this race and the Downtown Detroit Partnership is the one who fronts the money for all the improvements. Not to mention Firestone is the sponsor of the event, not Honda.

It the same reason why James Rossiter (mispell?) is driving on the AGR ALMS team. Even Montangy (another mispell?) has Honda connections with his time at Super Aguri.

There you go. Same with Gil DeFarran. He has an Accura race team. He USED to be the F1 Honda team sporting director, or some such title. Not a coincidence.

Not really if you don't have any hope of advancing to Ferrari or McLaren. Sure, the Super Aguri was more advanced than any top Indy Car but, on the otherhand, it was never a threat to run at the front. Riding around at the back with little or no hope of scoring points can't be much fun, I would imagine.
However, I would rate Panther a little higher than a backmarker team. I recall Vitor finishing 2nd at Indy this year.
