INDYCAR: Transporter Fire Totals Castroneves and Briscoe’s Primary Cars

Team Penske truck caught fire on the way to Sonoma; oval-track chassis will have to be modified for this weekend’s race at Infineon.

Why would they have two primary cars on the same truck? In NASCAR, each team has their own truck carrying 1 primary and 1 back-up car.

The way I read the article on Indycar.com a truck was already in California for a test with one # 3 and one # 6 car on it. Those cars were to be the backups this weekend and this truck was bringing what would be the primary cars out.

Ha! Two down, and what, about 35 more to go? I don't wish the Captain bad luck, but....the sooner IRL can get to a new spec car, or better yet, a set of rules that allows for multiple different makes, or multiple engine suppliers at least, the better!

It's not NASCAR, but Penske's Indy Car guys typically have two trucks nonetheless. I guess one has both primary cars and the other has both T cars? This is the kind of thing that might change that system if so.

We seem to have had a spate of these transporter fires. Wayne Taylor's Grand Am truck burned down this year, and a World Challenge truck burned down last year. With all the miles these guys do, it's no surprise there have been these fires.

Come on ardec2 be real; I suppose you are that "perfect person" who never does wrong. I can't stand the crap that people post like this. Having relation on the #3 crew makes this comment even more insulting to me and the crew. They work their @#!'s off

bigD,,the drivers that came from chumpcar have been very impressive despite their circumstances
