BOULDER MOTOR SPORTS TO RACE IN 2009 FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

For the historic return of World Superbike to the United States, Boulder Motor Sports Racing announces that it has informed FG Sport of its intention to take part in the 2009 FIM Superbike World Championship. The team is looking forward to participating in a very competitive season in the world arena.

In the Championship, Boulder Motor Sports will be racing on the race-proven Ducati 1098RS superbike. Boulder Motor Sports has been working closely with Ducati Corse to prepare for racing in the 2009 FIM Superbike World Championship in which it will enter two riders. In anticipation of the arrival of their bikes, the team will be opening their Italian-based racing shop within the next few months.

This is great for a US team jumping back in the WSBK map. Hopeful for US riders.

Ben Bostrom might be a good choice he has Ducati experiance knows most of the tracks and has got his mojo back and was a 6 time winner in 2001.

He'd be a great choice but, what's his contract situation with Yamaha? Would he be able/want to get out it for less pay, would he want to get out of it and leave the US again?

It would be great to see an American rider on the Boulder bike, but I'd think Yamaha has big plans in place for B-Boz.

The 1098RS as used by Biaggi, Xaus, Smrz (buy a vowel..) and Lanzi seems on equal footing with the factory Xerox F08. I noticed Biaggi's bike was running a fat Akrapovic exhaust system at Brands instead of the Termignonis on the factory F08.

If things go completely sideways with DMG for 2009 and the OEMs choose not to participate then I'd bet almost all of the riders would be released from their contracts, so there's always that to look forward to. oh oh
