no doubt. seriously povol, you've been watching to many sappy b movies. this is racing. you ALWAYS want one better position. you're trying to add some sort of humanity and sweet brotherly love kookiness to the sport.

I am as competitive as anyone that has every lived, but i would most definatley not pass my best friend and cost him a title...

LOL

of anyone that has ever lived?

LOL LOL LOL

dude... i know club racers that would punt their grandma off the track to get up the inside... if you were anywhere near as competitive as "anyone who has every lived" the mere thought of not passing someone you could would be viewed as vile and weak and worthy of self retribution...

I have to agree that the most competitive people give no quarter - at racing or tiddlywinks.

if it's the deciding factor on the last lap of the last race, sure, i can see him rolling off and taking 3rd. but honestly, discussing it 5 races out and making a plan is just a little silly. if jaime thinks about that, it will be a moment before he rolls off and he'll throw up in his mouth a little. if ben is 100% by the next race it is more likely jaime will be racing mat for 2nd than ben anyhow. i don't see mat winning the rest of the races. it's just a silly discussion. racers don't do this. really, it sounds like i'm on some D&D;board w/ a bunch of dragon and fairy geeks wink

Notice i said Purely Hypothetical and aint going to happen.Jaime ran with the boys in race 1 because there was a red flag every time you turned around.Day 2 was back to normal with Mladin 5-6 seconds up and Spies about the same on Jaime.I dont think he is going to be a factor but some riders have interjected themselves into titles before and had no business doing it.Remember last year at Laguna in SS.A bonzai move almost took out Hayden. And who could forget our little buddy Pedrosa in 06.

Yeah, if Hacking can't beat a fresh sliced Spies he won't be there to beat a healthy one.

At the last race it appeared that Hacking gave up too easily when Spies was behind him. While this may only be speculation he knows what 5 points could cost his friend and Hacking is too far from joining the championship fight anyway. Not saying Hacking did this on purpose but you never know. The other possibility is that he pushed it to the limit and couldn't get anymore out of the Kawi to keep up. I could be wrong but it looked like he could have pushed it a bit more to keep ahead of Spies.

Their are only 8 bonus points left 3 poles and 5 for laps lead but Mladin could still win the title with 1 point to spare if he wins all 5 races and gets all 8 bounus points.

... as long as that specific pass won't ruin the championship for either Mladin or Spies). If the title is on the line at Laguna, I think he'll let them fight it out.

Especially since him and Spies are best buds.I cant see Jamie doing anything that would cost Spies the title....A lot of variables, butMladin will have to be perfect to get it.

In the scenario that he can help his friend I can see him getting in Mladin's way enough to give his buddy an edge. But I'm not sure he'll be given a chance to do that by the usual pace that Mladin and Spies go.

I can see Mladin again losing the championship by a very small margin. I can see him winning at VIR and Atlanta but Laguna will be tougher especially if Spies feels better. But I'm not a Spies fan so I hope he loses the Championship.

I was reading a piece in "Motorcycle Racer". Francis Batta, from the WSB Suzuki team says his points weren't very clear in the US press. Not that he was misquoted, but in his article he now says that with the issues in the AMA, US Suzuki could benefit from Spies being in WSB. It would still get as much TV coverage. Batta says he could supply the bikes and support. US Suzuki or Yoshimura could come up with the funds. He also says the Suzuki GP bike has limited capabilities. Basically it's not a front runner. Spies isn't going to set the world on fire riding it so he may as well come to WSB.

Also, Max Neukirchner is on last years bike as most people know, but they have the benefit of being able to do more with it. The 08 bikes belong to the factory and the team is limited in what they can do. That's my understanding on his article.
