I wonder if the "Pinks" creators ever considered saving 18k a year and use a Christmas instead of Rich ? I guess that is supposed to be part of the show's allure. Saturday night racing in the south with a human tree and racing for pink slips. Ok, I think the novelty has worn off for me and I find the gearheads arguing for lengths tedious at best.
How would that save 18k a year?

After being warned, I now express my dissatisfaction with my remote.
you're on a distinguished list !!
Thanks for putting it that way. I felt like like I was on another list before.

Change the Channel, clap clap clap, Change the Channel, clap clap clap, Change the Channel!
I do, but I feel like I am missing out on all of the actual racing programming Speed could show in place of the second and third showing of these "original" shows. Can't they have one set night where they show all of these shows and dedicate two or three other nights to racing shows and races?
Proabably not since for some reason i don't know people would rather watch the same episode of Pinks three to four times or whatever than actual racing action. Oh well at least they are showing the Knoxville Nationals this weekend, as well as the ALMS race from Road America.
Pinks, Unique Whips, and the multitude of other "reality shows" (Living the Low Life? Why would I want to live the... never mind.) probably cost next to nothing to produce and I guess Speed gets a desired demographic for those shows that a Legends of Motorsport or Victory By Design don't attract.
Fine Living Network used to have a pretty good series called
A CARography. I was hoping the channel would feature more shows like that. But most of the time when I turn to it these days, it's either chattering teenage girls redecorating their bedrooms or a couple of clog-wearing guys with lisps discussing what flowery wallpaper looks best in the kitchen.

That's probably a good rule of thumb, regardless of your viewing tastes. We have a regular slate of Speed, Sci-Fi, and Foodnetwork entries on our recording list, not to mention a few others as we see them.
Theodore Sturgeon (I believe) was once quoted, replying to a slam against Science Fiction being (90% crude), as "Everything is 90% crud).
We just need to find the 10% we like.

Most of the threads on this subject have been deleted, but there have been very many. I have been warned by the mods not to repost my feelings on these shows, as well as Living the Low Life, and I will continue to heed those warnings.
That's BS.
The whole point of this forum is to express our opinions about speed's programming.
Q. What message does it send when they try to censor people's REPEATED displeasure with their programming choices?
A. That they really don't care what us educated viewers think.
The throngs enjoy seeing stupid crap link pinks and wrecked and unique whips and nascar, so until one of the higher-up boobs realizes SPEED CAN MAKE MONEY BY CREATING A SECOND CHANNEL WITH ALL OF THE
RACING PEOPLE WANT TO WATCH AND NONE OF THE REALITY CRAP, we'll continue to be subject to the same garbage shows.

It's really sad that some programming genius just out of Business School believes that we want to watch more dysfunctional behavior on TV. Who made him King?
Isn't there enough bad taste, poor manners, and embarrassing ugly behavior to go around already? We have to watch 'years' of it on SPEED too?
OK, the back-storys are interesting, but the personalities need therapy!
Just give us the cars, the racing, the drivers, the mechanics, the tracks, the design data and the knowledgeable guys like Varsha, Matchett and Hobbs to walk us thru it.
Reality TV blows. Real TV rocks!

just look at how dead the section on pinks is at the bottom of the main page.
truth be known, that reflects the ratings as well.
but they buy those shows in a package for cheap.
so even if they don't get a ton of viewers, it doesn't take a bunch of low budget motor oil ads to sponser them for cheap.
so they can set the stations' autopilot, set the alarm, lock the doors.
leaving us with stale cake.

BMWSTEVE just said it all...get rid of all the nonsense shows that cater to the junk yard crowd of under 50 IQ's and give us real racing and supportive historic shows, like Victory by Design, CanAm and F-5000 historic racing, I'd be happier to see non-stop repeats of "Drive In Theater" with Bruce Dern instead of the current mind numbing offerings of Unique Whips, Pinks, Wrecked and the rest of the tattooed up gang banger stupid shows.
Dear Speed Programing Managers: All of my friends that can afford Tivo, have no interest in these ######## junk yard reality shows...all we want is MotoGP, MotoGP 250, F2, F1, ALMS, Bonneville Speed Week, Good Wood Festival of Speed, Isle of Man TT, Paris Dakar, Sprint Cars and good shoes like Victory by Design, Barret Jackson, and all the Historic Auto and Bike racing you can find.....your forcing us to watch Indy Car and NHRA Drag racing which is on another network, in case you haven't noticed!

there seems to be alot of motorsports action in the world that speed tv doesn't care to show, since I don't like game shows and speed has only a passing interest in motorsports and seems content to become the nascar and game show network I think I'll just find something to do as opposed to trying to find something to watch, you folks have fun
