NASCAR and Goodyear are still trying to understand why the track surface at Indianapolis failed to “rubber in”...

Tire war 1990's..1969 Talladega... errr......2008 Indy! The show must go on regardless of how badly. I'm sure all those hard working people in the stands will be compensated by the money grubbing machine. Yeah, right. When is Indy coming back to Pocono?

Give everyone a free pass who bought a ticket to that lame imitation of a race.."really got on it for the last 7 laps" Did someone really say that...like Dr. Punch (and Judy)??

Did someone say there was a race at Indy? I was there, all I saw was yellow flags when ever a Hendricks car got passed. # 11 should have won, but NASCAR favors Hendricks, sooooooooooooo, you see what happened. Don't think I'll go next year. INDY SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! raspberry

PPP=PPP. Piss poor planning equals piss poor performance.
The lead sled racing of NASCAR and Goodyears notoriously bad tires are a horrible combination. Stop building steel bodied tanks of cars and expecting them to run on skinny tires.

As long as Jack Roush & Co.'s xenophobic attitude about Toyota stays reasonably popular in NASCARland, Goodyear's not going anywhere. After all, there's really no other "Amurrican" tire company left besides Hoosier. Firestone is Bridgestone and Goodrich is Michelin. God forbid another Japanese company should be involved in NASCAR, much less (banish the thought!!!) a French one. Instead, let's continue to have one tire debacle after another just to show how "great" Goodyear tires are.

The IMS track surface did not "fail" to rubber in. The tires "Failed" to do their job. There was not track failure.

I stopped being a fan when the cup series became the IROC series and the qualifying became a joke. It should be go fast or go home, in NHRA even the points leader can be sent home not qualified. NASCAR has become a slave to money, not to the fans.

Its good to see Nascar finally admit that race was a shambles. Sunday they were trying to tell us that we had a good race. In Victory Lane, everyone was sitting there telling us that it was a good race. On This Week in Nascar, they were doing the same thing, sitting there telling us what a good race it was. I really think Nascar was trying to brainwash us into believing that it was indeed a good race. So I am assuming they realized we weren't buying it. But to vow that will never happen again. I don't know that I would go that far. This is the second time this year the tires have been a problem with a race.
