Traction Control linked to brakes….. anyone?

Hello friends,

Many years ago, probably 10 (!), I remember having read a couple of articles (or a few) published in print that said that in GP500 racing there were bikes either equipped with traction control that actually braked the rear wheel to keep it from lifting during heavy front wheel braking in order to retain overall traction, or that such a system was being tested. I have no clue where I might have read it. Anyone here remember such an article or a similar buzz happening around that time?

Also, the same article or another one, talked about how a TC system was being tested that was meant to actually prevent vicious highsides. Though I don't remember whether it mentioned how that was being hoped to be accomplished, due to an argument happening elsewhere I had been thinking about it for a few hours. How could TC braking theoretically mitigate a highside?

Anyone here remember reading those articles or similar, written earlier or now? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

it is like an ABS system hooked to the electronic ignition advancer unit monitoring wheel speed and engine speed conjoined to a reverse slipping clutch.good combination when you have way too much power for the weight of the vehicle.

the V-4 2 strokes went from a 1-3-2-4 firing order to 1-4 and then 2-3 (big bang)
engine design which preceded the electronic engine management to maintain less wheel spin.
