From MotoGP:

A sketch of the Balatonring is presented as Hungary will force to drop a GP as they will
make their entry into the MotoGP grid in 2009.

Any thoughts which country will have to give way to Hungary?

I would also like to see this track to host the F1 race.

I believe China is history - and I agree, no loss to the calendar. Hungary would be a great addition.

China is history and at least they're not going back to the awful Hungaroring. Maybe they could drop Sepang as that place is usually empty. They won't drop Qatar because there's too much money there even with lousy attendance.

The new provisional 2009 calendar is out:

Looks like Shanghai got dropped for Hungary. This is a track that has not even had construction start yet??? Wish they would have put the Brno and Hungary dates closer together. Could have done a vacation/crawl from Buda to Prague and seen them both.

I'm surprised they're leaving China. I would have thought that the manufacturers would have wanted to race there so they could market their motorcycles in that (emerging) market.

There were no fans to market from what I've heard, and China has unique hassles that I'm guessing they'd rather skip.

China will make bikes for their people, they are not big on importing.
